  The room was immaculately clean and I can't honestly suggest how it could be improved. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. I will definitaly recommend it to friends and will definitely stay there again.   The Blakeny is a family run b@b,excelent value, spotlessly clean with a wondeful home cooked breakfast far more than one could possibly eat but irresistable. Large room comfortable bed and cosy doona small but adequate bathroom with very good shower. Delightful stay.It is a bit far from town but the bus is right outside the door and only takes 10 minutes. The same bus goes into - we chose tho stay here as we didn't want to be right in the middle of town. It' s a 25 minute walk to the Minster though there is a bus stop right outside if you want save your legs. The location was nice & quiet with hardly any traffic. The room was large, clean & comfy & there was plenty of nice food for breakfast. The hosts were friendly & helpful & were able to give us some really useful information. We will definitely stay there again when we return to york next year.

  the B&B was very quaint, my elderly parents were in the converted stable. It was an adorable room, good size and the largest bathroom we saw in Great Britain. It had a little frig too and was easy for my father to use as he required a walker. My room was in the main house, up some very steep narrow stairs. The owner gave us good directions to a nice little pub call - My wife and I stayed at the fifth milestone for two nights. This was our first get away for a long time and i couldn't be happier with our choice. We felt welcome from the moment we stepped out of the car. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better room, breakfast was delicious and there was great variety at the breakfast buffet. I honestly couldn't pick fault with a single thing.   Staff were very helpful and polite. Room was immaculate and very comfortable. Also parking on site was a great bonus. Only 10 minute, nice walk into the centre. - The guest house was lovely and clean and the room was the same we were really pleased with it and will definately stay there next time we come to York.

  Cannot fault our stay at all. I received a telephone call from Helen, checking what time we were going to arrive, and also advising us that the weather was very wet so to bring waterproofs! This is a place to which we would readily return. - Really nice, traditional and comfortable accommodation. Fantastic welcome by the landlady. We arrived dripping wet and she just took over and sorted all our wet gear for us. Bliss. The dog was treated like a special guest too! Fabulous breakfast. Sensible rates for solo rooms.

  Jane was really welcoming and helpful with local info including walks and very nicely dryed our wet walking stuff. We had the ground floor room which was large, had big bed and great shower. Would stay again. - Excellent 5 star accommodation with a warm friendly welcome from Jane and Simon. Breakfasts were delicious. The room had everything we could possibly need and was of a very high standard. Good walk recommendations (and maps) from Simon and advice of where to eat were much appreciated. This is the best b&b we have ever stayed at and is in a beautiful area with lots to do.
