  I cannot praise the Fernbank enough. The owner could not have been more helpful or hospitable. The hotel is beautifully decorated cared for. The public areas were very relaxing to sit in. The room I stayed in was spotless and very comfortable. Although I did not use the pool it was very inviting. I am quite a fussy traveller and think the - The staff were excellent and made you feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them. The Hotel was furnished well and very comfortable, lovely gardens to relax in if the weather was good and a very nice heated indoor pool. Breakfast was excellent with a big choice and plenty of it. The Fernbank delivers a high quality of service and comfort and we would certainly go back.

  Probably the best B&B I have stayed in within the UK (and I have been to a lot). Very friendly owners and lovely clean room! We stayed in the Captain's Room which was nicely decorated with very large bathroom. The room had an ironing board, hair dryer, coffee and tea maker, and pretty much any toiletries one could need.   We enjoyed our short stay immensely. The staff were very polite and friendly. Excellent food, tasty, healthy, great variety. Room was very clean with a comfortable bed, central heating. The hotel is located in a very nice quiet area within an easy access to the station and the shops. Bathroom was small but perfectly formed with an excellent shower. Tea and coffee were plentiful and they had mugs! Breakfast was excellent with a good selection well prepared. A beautiful building.

  absolutely worthy, the owner of the place is lovely, i really felt at home at oaklands... if you're planning to go to the island, this is the place to stay, best quality for money - nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors - they even ordered good weather for our stay!!! The small fridge in our room was an excellent idea.

  Lorron is a very nice and kind hearted lady. The facilities are very nice. There is a beautiful beach on the back side of the hotel. It's a good chance to see the sunrise. - The staffs and owner Lorraine were so nice and they felt more like our family! Very warm and welcoming atmosphere!
