  We found the hotel to be very welcoming, clean and our room was very spacious and comfortable. Although we did not use the pool it looked very clean with a nice balcony area with lovely views over the bay. Breakfast was ok served by very friendly staff. Location is very close to beach and all of the towns shops etc. Bar area was spacious with a go... was die leute sagen » od selection of drinks on offer. All in all a very enjoyable stay at the Merlewood which we will return to again. - Everything, stayed one night B&B, lovely place, very welcoming, other residents were very friendly, some reviews may comment that its dated but its very well looked after and cared for. Breakfast was ample and fresh and catered for all needs by a team of young but welcoming waitresses.

  Such a good location, stayed here for 2 nights, central to really anything you could want,ferry port,shopping,family activities, beach, etc. Real value for money. People may not like the old fashioned decor but as a young couple staying there its perfectly fine and I can't stress enough just how clean this place is. As its a lodge, parking right outside - The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the en- suite bathroom well apointed. The television was better provided for with a variety of channels than many a hotel. The motel was perfectly situated for easy access to inland and coastal Pembrokeshire with Haverfordwest close by. We arrived by car, but Johnston's railway station would make it just as accessible by rail from Cardiff. There were several interesting restaurants within walking distance, but, although moderately expensive, we

  Excellent location. A very relaxed atmosphere and most helpful staff at all times. The dining room staff were friendly and a good breakfast was served quickly and efficiently. Bar staff are very pleasant and we enjoyed the' happy hours 'making it an excellent venue for a 60th birthday celebration.
