  The hotel room was excellent; neat pristine and staffed by wonderful staff. I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone there the atmosphere was fantastically relaxing it had a very homely feel to it and was within 10 minutes stroll of the Lowthers pub, 5 minutes from the river and 2 Minutes from 'the wall' conspicuous in York. They also assisted us with drying some of his clothes which was fabulous. The breakfasts were amazing. Also, the rooms were reasonably sound proof which helped our baby get a good night's sleep and also meant other guests didn't hear him!

Tea and coffee making facilities were good and television was well sized. Breakfast was great and the dining room was well set out providing a friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone - The location is a ten minute walk to the centre of York and permits are provided to enable you to park outside the hotel. We had a downstairs bedroom with en-suite very comfortable and because the Farthings is situated in a quiet street this was a benefit of having a good nights sleep. The staff were very friendly and and were helpful in giving local information. The cleanliness of the rooms are spot on and they provided a wonderful menu for breakfast, we would definatley recommend this gem of
