  Booked this apartment as a birthday celebration. The apartment exceeded our expectations both in size and facilities. Perfect location overlooking the Hayes and the St David's 2 shopping centre, restaurants at your doorstep and selection of bars. Loved the freedom it gave us, definitely be booking again ASAP.   Very friendly staff, and the bathroom facilities were excellent - very clean and convenient, since the toilet and the shower were together. The 4-room female dorm I stayed in had ample space. This was very different and miles better than the backpackers place I stayed at in London. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and tidy. The breakfast is the most enjoyable continental breakfast I have ever seen in hostels, and there are free dinner nights. There is a living room where you can watch films and play video games. The locaton is excellent, just ten minutes walk to the castle.

  I liked the fact that it was located so close to the city that I couldeasily walk to major tourist attractions. I also appreciated the use ofthe free car park. - The Mercure Lodge Hotel, Cardiff is a great hotel based about 5 mins from the centre - An excellent base for a weekend in Cardiff. The rooms were better than we expected, really great value and extremely clean, decorated well and spacious (not like your other standard small rooms where you can barely move).   Stayed for one night. From booking in to leaving each one of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable and there was extra pillows if you needed them . The bath was very comforable and quick filling. We went to the Thyme restaurant in the hotel. The staff were very friendly, and helpful. The breakfast choices were excellent, with some healthy options. We were allocated a massive double room, (which was also designed to accommodate any disabled guests with wheelchairs) The bathroom was also very spacious indeed - and was a wet room style, with a very efficient shower. The hotel is very conveniently located for the major shopping precincts.
