We loved everything about this beautiful Manor House - it's quaint, atmospheric, comfortable and luxurious with the most amazing and incredibly friendly owners, Norman & Beth. We will be going back without a doubt! The rooms were clean, comfortable and were the right mix of having a modern feel in a very old building. All home comforts were there...vast range of teas and coffees, fridge, wet room showers and comfy beds. The breakfasts were divine and plentiful. Beth & Norman opened the . alle bewertungen »
There was a cosy family feel to the hotel, with only 5 or 6 bedrooms and a very personal touch. We were offered a cup of tea in the garden when we first arrived, and breakfast was cooked to order and served in a family dining room with the other guests in the morning. The piano in the hallway was utilised by another guest and it was pleasant to hear in the morning while we were getting ready. The hotel is quaint and eccentric, which gives it some charm. There is a lovely little pub just up .
The Hotel is tucked away at the end of a lane, but just down the road from a pub. The owners are extreamly friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome immediately. Tea and buscuits infront of the open fire on arrival was nice and room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic and having a fresh coffee infront of another open fire afterwards was really relaxing. It was more than I imagined when I first arrived and would definitely stay again.
We loved the peaceful setting and ambience of the ManorHouse. Our hosts
were accommodating, helpful and offered us a choice of rooms, booked the
local pub for us and provided us with a wonderful breakfast! The room
was as described and we slept well. Lots of hot water for soaking sticky
limbs after a hot day! The local pub was only a 2 min walk ...overall,
it worked very well for us and we would definitely return. Thank you!.
The manor was in a good position to visit Bath, although a little hard to find. The house itself is beautiful and on arrival we were offered a most needed cup of tea. The room had everything we needed and the couple who greeted us were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend a stay at the manor hotel.
Really friendly, interesting and helpful hosts who stayed up very very late to help with the late arrival of some of our party. They were full of advice about the area and even rang to book us a meal and the local pub. The house itself is a gem - its history even goes back to the doomsday book. The romantic aura of the place has to be seen to be believed.
Lovely welcome, a cold beer in the garden after a long and warm drive. The location was perfect, in the country ,but close to Bath. The homely feel, peaceful, helpful staff, who went out of their way to help with all our requests. This is a country home, which is lived in. Located in a small village with a great pub, which serves lovely food.
We were greeted upon arrival by Norman, the owner, who settled us in and sat us down for a lovely cup of coffee, even lighted the fire specially for us.
Our room was lush! Really enjoyed the wet room:)
Location is absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was fantastic. Both Beth and Norman were ideal hosts, and made our stay very relaxing.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, and knowledgeable about the local area. We were offered coffee or tea as soon as we arrived and were served in a lovely room with an ancient hearth. The breakfast was quite good and with very generous portions. The house was very comfortable, including bedroom and ensuite bath.
Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Fantastic breakfasts. Loved the quirky house and accomodation. The near by pub, just 4 min walk, served great food. Canal 15 mins away and Bath city near by too! A great location for a whole variety of activities.we came and went as we pleased. Loved it!.
The Manor house is in an excellent position to either visit the city of Bath or venture out in to the surrounding countryside. It's very pretty and the staff are really welcoming.
Altogether an excellent place to stay and it was perfect for the short break we had planned.
It was located in a very quiet village 10 min drive from Bath. Very comfortable and friendly. Lots of walks nearby to take our lab. Village pub dinner was excellent, although it was more restaurant than pub. Would definately recommend!.
the hotel was beautiful, and breakfast was freshly made for us each morning. Norman could not be more helpful and we would definitely recommend this hotel to others. thank you for a wonderful stay.

Location is great for a quiet break.
There was nothing not to like, couldn't recommend this place highly enough!.
My husband was less than impressed with the difficulty we had in finding the hotel, as it is not well signposted and our GPS lost signal in the remote area. There is limited parking and no lift for less able guests. The shower was inside our bedroom, rather than in the bathroom, which our host explained was to do with the plumbing difficulties in such an old building.
It didn't matter to us, but no tv reception in our room at all and
insufficient broadband width...might concern some travelling teenagers!
Lots of DVDs to choose however which was great!.
Leaving!.
It was not easy to find- print out the directions and note the phone number.
Nothing we didn't like:).
It was a bit tricky to find, and directions are not easy to find on your website.
There was nothing that we did not like.
the fair trade tea in the room could have had more taste to it.
Could have done with a shower in the spa bath even if it was just an attachment.
We loved everything!.
Very little , perhaps the wet room with the toilet in it and the wash basin in the bedroom, individual luxury toiletries rather than a single half full shower gel would have been nice, especially considering the room cost.Shower gel but no shower in the second room for our party and an inoperative spa bath.
The lack of a shower attachment to the bath made it a tad tricky to wash hair.
Liquid soap is a personal bete noir so a small bar of soap would have been welcome. On reflection perhaps I should have requested some.
The shower pressure in the family suite was terrible unfortunately, other than that, nothing.
The room was a bit cold.
The traffic in the city centre made it difficult to get around, needs a satnav.
Nothing - it was a great stay.
Nothing.
Place felt a bit run down. Lounge still had Christmas decoration over
the fireplace (in may). Whilst bedroom was clean there was a problem
with wood louse (understand these are country creatures). Wettoom was
very poor - room with toilet and a shower (no screens). Sink outside in
the bedroom. Fed back to owners. They were responsive and are thinking
of making changes. It's a great place. Just needs a spring
clean/refresh and some reconfiguration with wet room.
