The location of the hotel was great! The view of the Eiger and Monch are fabulous. Our room had two bedrooms which was perfect for our family of four. The bigger room had a balcony looking out over the valley and mountains. The owners were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was nice. Great place as a home base for hiking or skiing. The hotel has new owners. They are planning renovations for the fall 2013 and spring 2014. They will be replacing flooring, updating bathrooms and replacing mattr

The hotel is right in the centre of Meiringen, with shops and a few restaurants nearby. It has good WiFi access, and free outdoor parking behind the hotel. Breakfast was OK, with fresh bread, fruit, cheese and some fruit. One could boil some eggs yourself if required.

for my money or more gracious, informative and fun hosts than the Hotel
Alpenblick. The hotel has private rooms available, but I opted for
shared accommodations for the first time in my travels. I was not let
down. In typical Swiss tradition, the shared facilities are absolutely
immaculate and for 30-some Swiss Francs a night you couldn't find
