  We had no problems parking-and ended up seeing the hotel as soon as we emerged from the garage-perfect! It's right next to the police station, so very quiet and safe (not that other parts of the city aren't). It was a very short walk to the cathedral and the city was fantastic to wander through. The heat was on, there was a hair dryer for me to use, they even had an electric kettle and tea sitting in our room - It was excellent in all ways * it was clean, nicely designed , bright, warm, open and friendly , just around the corner from the cathedral, but with ready access to taxis too. the staff , Diego and the young woman (whose name I didn't get) were exceptionally friendly and helpful ~~ in short a delightful place !! I d stay there again ~~)

  We just returned from staying 3 nights at this hotel. We were impressed by how well it lived up to its reputation. The kids' favorite part was the pool and the mini-zoo, my favorite part was the good-quality beds, and my husband liked the restaurant. A Guarda has the feel of old Spain, lots of friendly polite people, fresh local food and produce, and you feel welcome where ever you go. We stayed during the fiesta's and WOW the amount of people was amazing, but such a friendly atmosphere !

  This was our first trip to Yigo after many trips to other areas of Spain. We only spent 1 night here which could have been more. The staff and owners are very attentive and helpful. They recommended a restaurant down the way for eating fish and seafood which was very local and had the best seafood ever!   We stayed one night in this nice hotel on our way to Santiago de Compostela in May 2013. We stayed not in the main building but in the yard where the brand new rooms are. Everything was clean and comfortable. Central heating system was working and that was very important since the weather was pretty cold then. Breakfast was delicious and food plentif - I loved this hotel and made use of the pool and the spa facilities. I could have happily stayed longer than one night. Had a really nice lunch served by a lovely waitress who did not understand us and we did not understand her but we managed to communicate really well! Well done to her!
