  We had an excellent stay in this authentic place, located just in front of big dunes of Erg Chebbi. The Guest gouse is located in Tiharien village (4 km from Merzouga). I've found this village much more pleasant than Merzouga. There are less hustlers pushing you to take a camel trip, it is cleaner and more relaxing. Located at Meknes Medina, just 7 minutes walk from the main square and 3 minutes from medina markets, it has a private car parking just in 100 meters nearby, thus you can come by car and leave it in a safe place.   We loved our stay here, including the night in the desert they arranged for us. The staff was amazing and the family that owns the guesthouse was incredibly welcoming -- Hassan sat on the terrace with us for half an hour just to chat after we arrived. They're also working to preserve the dunes and keep dirtbikes and quads off them. Great people! We were invited into their homes, fed like kings, catered too and truly felt not only at ease but also safe. We had been a bit worried traveling to Morocco with only woman and children, but the staff was very kind and we never felt a bit of unease while visiting

  Though we found the facilities quite basic, this riad delivered what we came for. Ali, the owner, was very available, friendly and responsive to our needs. We wanted to experience desert culture and because of him we did. The fact that the riad is located - We were very well greeted by Ali and his staff. Ali quickly arranged jeep and dromedary (no camels in Africa) trips for us. The room was nicely decorated, Maroccan style. We had a wonderful evening meal under the tent by the pool and all you can eat breakfast. Above all we got what we came for, to see the desert, visit a different culture and meet friendly people.
