  The Pisani is an amazing hotel of old world charm and relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful furniture and surroundings made for the perfect stay. It was a perfect place to sit and sip Prosecco while watching the tourists drift by on their Gondolas. With only the map provided from their website I went straight from the St. Mark's vaporetto stop (from the airport) to the B&B with no wrong turns. Bottles of water from the mini bar in the room were cheap - It is a beautiful hotel tucked away on a quiet street back in the smaller canals. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is plentiful and delicious. It is also near the main hospital of Venice, which was an unexpected blessing for us during our stay.

We decided to spend an extra 100 or so euros to get an apartment instead of a hotel room and we saved a few hundred euros catering for ourselves instead of relying on the expensive restaurants of Venice. We stayed in San Zuccaria which was a 10 min walk to St Mark's sq and Rialto bridge but still not in a busy crowded tourist area. Overall - Location was excellent - close to St Marks, Rialto and the water bus stops at San Zaccarina. 5 mins walk from Coop supermarket and many restaurants and take aways. The apartment was very nice and spacious with two rooms and reasonably well renovated. Everything in venice looks worn down from the outside but once inside, the apt was very nice. Donatella and Elise were excellent hostesses and responded very priomptly to all questions and queries. Definitely recommended. Btw tourists to Venice mus
