  Wir haben zehn wundervolle Tage in La Terra del Mezzo verbracht - unser (sehr schönes und sehr sauberes Wohlfühl-)Zimmer im ersten Stock hatte einen herrlichen Blick über den Zitronenhain zum Meer und bis nach Taormina, vom Bad und dem Balkonvorsprung aus hatte man außerdem einen tollen Blick auf den Etna. La Terra del Mezzo ist eine hervorragende... was die leute sagen » , (und mit dem wunderschön gestalteten Garten) idyllische Ausgangsbasis für Touren im Osten Siziliens. Wir haben uns sehr, sehr wohl dort gefühlt - ni - sehr freundliches Personal, schöne Anlage in einer Zitronenplantage, rustikales Zimmer mit behindertengerechtem Badezimmer, toller Blick auf den Ätna vom Anwesen aus (vom Zimmer aus nur von den Zimmern im 1. Stock). Der Topper aber war das Essen: schon das Frühstück mit Bergen von Früchten, verschiedenen Kuchen, Joghurt etc., das auch aufgefahren wird, wenn nur wenige Gäste anwesend sind, ist superlecker und nicht zu bewältigen.   Great hotel. Room we stayed in was huge, spotless and very clean. The bathroom was huge and spotless. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with an excellent variety of fuits and other staples. Good firm superking sized bed in a standard room. A lot of the original stone had been built into the deisgn and was well done.Very quite. We had a back room 415 and with the shutters closed it was silent. In summer if you wanted to open the shutters there is an aircon machine nearby which is noisy.

  All the staff at the hotel were wonderful, so helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful, has a lovely little bar which is open late, and a beautiful dining room with a fabulous view of the beach. It was pouring it down with rain when the ferry arrived at Stromboli and we were thankful that a golf car was waiting for us. Rooms are a good size, my wife liked the pool and to have a good breakfast facing the sea across a small road was wonderful. Three good nights in firm beds, great.

  The Petrara Resort is a charming agriturismo resort in Avola. During our stay there, there were no wandering farm animals except for a couple of cats. The pool is really big and kept clean and kids have plenty of room to wander about and play. We had a quadruple room which was quite spacious and very clean with quite comfortable beds. The parking spaces are numbered matching the room number so each guest has his own parkin - What a haven of peace & tranqulity set in beautiful gardens with a very inviting pool - we had a lovely time just wished we`d stayed longer.Our hosts couldn`t do enough for us and even followed us out in the morning to make sure we got on the motorway ok - thankyou for a very relaxing stay.

The rooms are airy and comfortable (we stayed in 2 different ones on separate nights), and we were given a quiet one at the back when we asked for one.   Everything about our stay was ideal and perfect. We absolutely loved the hospitality that Guido and Ada provided, as well as their entire team. The fruit and vegetables grown on site were amazing to enjoy for breakfast (especially the fres - The attention to detail was amazing. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. The country setting was lovely. The only problems we had were returning at the end of a days outing in the car as the GPS did not pick up all the small roads. A very detailed map is important to have. As well there are one way streets in the nearby towns so you don't always follow the same routes leaving the hotel and returning to it.
