  We loved La Toretta. We stayed in one of the 2 apartments that are part of the hotel but separate from the main building. It was better than we could have hoped for.   AMAZING PLACE!!! it was a small studio apartment. Perfect for the 2 of us! We have a kitchenette a small seating area as well a balcony with a bit of a ocean view. The owner was awesome. I loved how personable she was and super friendly. I couldn't believe that she personally makes breakfast for all her guests. She baked fresh bread and croissants... was die leute sagen » for us. Bathrooms may be slightly - Located at the entrance of the village when arriving by car. The weather was a little bit cold and it was raining, but the studio we stayed in was warm, clean and well equipped.The view from the window over the sea, mountain and village was nice. Breakfast was good. Unfortunatly due to the weather we could not have breakfast on the terrace that had a nice view overlooking the surrounding terraced hills.   My wife and I spent four nights here and loved it. After we arrived at the train station, the reception office for the apartment was easy to find (above tabacco shop up Main Street a bit). The apartment was clean and modern. It had a great little kitchen with all the utensils we needed as well as a dining table. Great place to stay! - The location was excellent, close to the Manarola train station. The bathroom was very good, spacious and good hot water but the shower head had a missing knob so it couldn't be anchored on the pole to the right height. And the safe also had a missing knob so wasn't usable.

  The two employees we interacted with - Eugeneo and Anna - were both great. They were helpful and friendly. Our "room" was actually a small home, with two small floors, with a narrow staircase in between. There was a bedroom upstairs and a kitchen and sitting room downstairs. We could see the water, but most of it was blocked by a vineyard hill and the other part of the town. - Gorgeous little true-Italian style living. This particular apartment is very easy access compared to some others further up the hill, yet it has a second high balcony which over looked the street. There were chairs and a table to sit out on the balcony and eat breakie in the morning which was lovely. Kitchen had all we needed, extra room came in handy to unpack suitcase..   Very friendly and helpful proprietor...liked the location but did not realise it does not have any meal preparation facilities. Most luxurious, especially the bathroom. We did so enjoy out visit and some of that was because Giovanni had been so kind, assisted us in our arrival and got us a taxi for our departure. Very quiet rooms on a small alley looking out onto the grape terraced hillsde, Well appointed room though ours was a bit small, others are supposedly larger. Helpful and very organized service.

In Manarola (as well as the other Cinque Terre towns) you have to leave your car in a parking lot above the town, and walk down the mountain with your suitcase. Although we didn't have a view of the sea from our room, we had a lovely vie... was die leute sagen » w of the vineyards and gardens running up the hillside, and were very happy the next day that we didn't have to lug our stuff any further up the hill. - A simple, newly renovated and clean hotel which used to be a winery. Lovely staff, lounge and garden. While no view of the town or ocean, the location was great with a wonderful view up the hillside. I don't 'do UP', but this was an easy and quick walk from the main part of the town, away from the more touristy areas. I felt like a guest in their home as I believe it's family run, and they live next door. Lovely!
