  We loved everything about the Alchymist. We had original booked at their sister hotel but because we were travelling in a group of four there wasn't enough room so the upgrade us to this hotel. All I can say the staff were excellent, I emailed on how do we get there from the train and they sent a driver to pick us up and it was complimentary. The breakfast room has a beautiful view to the Old town. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and the whole hotel was beautifully finished. Breakfast was very good. Location was perfect, being close enough to all the main sites but being quiet enough to get away from the crowds. Being a smaller hotel, it felt like very personal service and attention to detail. They also brought us a bottle of wine when they knew it was my husband's birthday which was a very lovely gesture.

  Serviced apartments, not a hotel, but this actually suited us better as we were able to prepare a cooked meal one night. Comfortable beds, everything was clean. We were able to check-out around 9pm to catch a midnight train as no one had booked for that night so that was handy.
