  I arrived late at night and the staff were very friendly and spoke good English. They gave me great tips and organised good activities for me, when I left I forgot to settle a food bill. Roy and Angel instead of asking me to come all the way back managed to let me pay at my next destination and they would charge that hotel. The rooms are nice, the beds confortable, the staff is very helpful and friendly, the restaurant is convenient and the location is perfect. They even offer a cup of tea at the bar with a coupon, its a much better idea to taste a cup of local tea rather than some beer usually offered at many backpackers hostels.

Good value for the price, we wanted a cheap clean, comfortable room for a quick overnight stay in Guilin and the Backstreet Backpackers provided just that. Near to the principal touristic points in Guilin, helping us to make most of tours by walking.   This is basically a backpackers hostel, and although I wouldn't consider myself to be in this particular demographic, it seemd to tick all the right boxes. The location was fine, with good access to restaurants, tours etc. Facilities were generally clean and tidy, wifi ok, plus pretty good spoken English by the front office staff. It was very cheap so we weren't expecting too much. However, we had a lovely spacious room with a river view. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The food was delicious. We couldnt have asked for more. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it. It was very close to the night market and the bus station.

But we got a room that was not facing the street, so it was still nice and quiet in the evening. It is walking distance to most attractions, and the staff was really helpful.
