  We were upgraded on arrival to a sea view room which was absolutely fabulous. The room was ultra comfortable and the bathroom very large. The hotel had the luxurious feel you would expect from this standard with nice furniture and carpets in public areas. The staff were so helpful and checked us in early, we had purchased a room with executive level access (well worth it as there is an open bar and lots of snacks/food available during the day free of charge!) and were upgraded to a suite with spectacular views of Copacabana Beac... was die leute sagen » h. We had mentioned on the 'special request' of the booking form that the reason of the trip was for a special birthday. In our room we found a birthday cake and a bottle of champagne courtesy of the hotel which was a very nice gesture.   We spent three nights at the R&C Santa Teresa and were very happy with our choice for romantic vacation. The room was very nice and very clean. The design of hotel is awesome. One could start and finish a book in peace here, yet 'feel Brazilian', and not feel they need to join the flock of tourists seeing the usuals in Rio. I enjoyed spending time at the bar, restaurant and spa - perfect for a day of indulgence!
