  I have stayed in around 20 different yha hostels in the world and this is the best I have ever stayed in. Excellent security ( all points of entry are covered including your dormitory!! Everything !! short walk to the #1 subway line which takes u all the way down to battery park. There are housing projects directly behind thebuilding, but there was no trouble at all & that just added to the whole atmosphere of staying in ny.   I felt very good there. It's not a typical hotel, each room is actually just a very small space of floor which is taken mostly of the bed and just a small cupboard, and the room is separated from the others just by a tiny wall. I guess, I got lucky with good "neighbours", so - This place can only be as good as the people who stay there - the walls between rooms in the sleeping area don't reach the ceiling and every sneeze is audiable to everyone (you can't hear check-in counter or lobby area, as they are in a different room).   For the money we paid it was really good. New york hotels are expensive! For this price u cant expect that much. It was just a simple room with a bed, a sink and a tv but thats all you need for a couple of days. We stayed there for just one night. The staff was friendly so all in all it was a nice stay there. Though the bathroom could have been more cleaner but hey its a shared bathroom so - Great location in the middle of bustling Chinatown, with 3 subway stations within a 5 minute walk, and considerably cheaper than most Manhattan hotels. After all, in 'the City that Never Sleeps' you don't want to spend too much time in your hotel room!
