  The staff were really good and helpful. It felt secure with gated coded card access. It's not a 5 star hotel. It has dated decor has all the basics including free wifi. It looks like they are slowly renovating the hotel so I guess the room rates will go up but maybe not.   There is no negative thing i would mention. The room was new and clean. Breakfest ok. Really good position of the hotel is just perfect (about 10min to the Town Hall)! The park place is small but all the guests found a place while we were there.   Good and a clean place for the money. The staff were courteous and it is a simple and an inexpensive place to stay if you want something on a low budget. Walking distance to movies, and great ethnic asian cuisine. - I liked that is was pet friendly at no extra charge. Once we got the handicapped room, it was perfect. The beds were comfortable.

  This is my second stay in less than 6 months. You can't beat the price and the location. There is a parking garage right next door with super overnight rates. The Muni bus stop is right in front of the hotel. You're a couple of blocks from Union Square. This is a budget hotel so don't expect "Five Star Hilton Accomodations". There is a new digital flat screen TV plus a refrig - It was a no frills hotel but comfortable for the most part. The shower was great - roomy, plenty of hot water.   Pacific Heights Inn is a true gem. We have stayed at this hotel 3 times - in 1999, 2004 and now in 2013 and each time the place was just right!It's not a "fancy place" but it's not a dive at all. There was a fridge and a microwave in ours, very handy. Spotless bathroom. Free (ample) parking in SF is invaluable. Location is very good too, just a very short walk off the lively Union street, convenient for buses... Overall, definitely recommended, we'll stay there again if we're ever in the area.

It wasn't a luxury hotel of course, but as a home base for a city trip I couldn't ask for more.
