  The Avalon is a lovely B&B on the quiet end of Duval, or at least as quiet as it ever gets in Key West. We went for a relaxing long weekend with relatives. There is no bar on the premises, but Pearls B&B is just around the corner with a fairly lively and eclectic clientele. The full breakfast served on the quaint front porch right on Duval St. made for a glorious start to the morning; great people watching spot. The cookies and lemonade in afternoon is a nice touch. Private parking within short walking distance.

  Value - There are many hotels to choose from on Key West, but at a cost. The Best Western was a good value. It was clean and easy to get to. It is a little further from downtown but still only a 10 minute drive to Duval Street. We visited during the off season so there was plenty of street parking for $2 an hour off of Duval.   everything was good nothing - Seems to be best priced hotel in area. Distance from main attractions is not a problem with a car. Its 2 stars are much better than South Beach ones.

  I liked the historic building and the amount of space I had. My apartment opened on the porch which was very nice to sit on late in the evenings. It was a nice strolling distance from Duval and Southernmost Point. I liked the area. The breakfast staff were pleasant, especially the very likeable Jasmin, who was a pleasure to see in the mornings.   The front desk clerks were sooo friendly and accomodating. The check in was fast and easy thanks to Angel.We were traveling with our 2 little dogs and they were welcomed with friendly smiles and pets. - No driving once we got to the airport.Shuttles took us everywhere.   We really enjoyed our stay at the Artist House on Fleming. We were in town for a wedding and stayed the 1st four nights at a beach resort and then switched over to the B&B for our last 3 nights. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The owners are lovely people who are very friendly and willing to help with whatever you need. The accommodations were lovely and the place was very nicely decor - The staff was wonderful -- very helpful with recommendations and reservations! The house was charming, the location great and the breakfasts very good with lots of healthy choices. The air conditioner in our room worked well and felt wonderful when we returned to the room after a full day of activities. It was very hot and humid when we were there.
