Our room was on the first floor in the back and our view was to a garden, beautiful. Being aTuesday we ate at the bar. The group there was very cordial and the bartender extremely helpful with suggestion about the food available.
Our stay at the Virginia Hotel was a great experience. We enjoyed good hospitality, very nice accommodations, and true Cape May charm. We would definitely consider returning in the future.

Wonderful location. Convenient, within walking, to beach, shops and restaurants.

Great location, nice fire in the common room, appealing, cozy bar, breakfast was basic but nicely presented.

Restaurant was beautiful, but a little pricey for our taste. That said, there were many other choices within walking distance.
The thermostat to was broken in our room. It made it difficult to sleep. Luckily the next day maintenance was able to fix it.

TV did not work.Direct TV. Could only get 1 channel.
Room was noisy - a lot of nose from restaurant and kitchen.
Staff indifferent.
The restaurant closed mon & tues because of the season.
No hot water the second morning of our stay.
Room was small, poorly lit, only available electric outlets for charging electronics are in the bathroom, very noisy heating unit and vibrating, very loud laundry facility underneath the room (#101) that actually caused the floor in the bathroom to shake.
Unfriendly staff, terrible breakfast - very limited choice, uneatable toast. cold hard boiled egg really spoiled the day. Would not go there again.
We had a room on the ground floor, close to the kitchen. We could hear noises out of the kitchen but it got quiet at night. However, there was a loud fan running in the hotel itself or the neighboring building throughout the night. The receptionists told us they would take care of it which they never did. In addition, they seemed annoyed by the request. Not an appropriate way of handling a complaint of this kind for a hotel with this reputation and standard.
