My husband and I were bumped from a flight at dca at 11:30 pm on June 10th. We had been traveling all day and needless to say, we were tired and stressed. I fortunately found the Courtyard Arlington online and we were able to get a room on short notice. It was great to be able to sleep in one of your comfortable beds rather than in a chair at the airport all night. Our room was spotless, and well-designed. Cafe in lobby with delicious and reasonably priced meals and snacks. Availability of shuttle service to and from the airport and to local restaurants. However, a restaurant that was only a half a mile away was not on your list. Convenience to Arlington National Cemetery which was the purpose of our trip. Hotel was designed to be comforting; the colors, the furnishings, and the staff. The staff at the hotel were OVERLY accommodating: finding us routes to get around the city, the best eating places, etc. Free convenient shuttles to closest Metro station and airport. Rooms comfortable and clean. With 2 exceptions, staff was very courteous and friendly. Added breakfast plan was excellent value. The helpful staff who made a reservation for us when the one I made through letsbookhotel.com was not in their records. Luckily there were vacancies. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Very convenient to Reagan International Airport. Ability to catch very early morning shuttle (5:05 am) was great. However, the scrambled eggs were a little too 'powdered' (I.E., not 'real' eggs). Other than that, there was nothing that we didn't like. In house restaurant service was slow. It did appear to be short staffed during this time. We dined in the restaurant for a meal the evening of our arrival. However, the service for takeout coffee was fine. attitudes of 2 staff members. Restaurant mediocre. The hotel resturant was a bit pricey. I would like to see a fan in the bathroom. I was very surprised that there was none. A small refrigerator would be a good addition to the rooms. Breakfast is not included. Everything was okey to me. I will be back soon. All good. The bistro staff was adversarial in the morning. Bummer. NO comfortable place to sit in the room - "sofa" was a backbreaker. Desk chair was filthy and uncomfortable. Kind of tricky to get into the hotel from street. Shuttle service from subway shut dow 1/2 hour before he said he would leaving 6 patrons standed. Another shuttle from a different hotel gave us all a lift back. I didn't like that the bathroom in my room, had very poor drainage, the shower and sink pooled with water, and was disgusting to me. Price Parking Fee. Employees attitude, they are very rude, unfriendly and they get mad when questions are asked. Pavement construction in front of hotel. Could not get an aaa discount on my room - told me it was not available. No hot tub yet it was advertised on the website,,poor variety of food,,my room had a problem of over flow in the drain with the shower,,the hours of the pool during the week were very limited..ice cream was out of date At the market at the counter. We called shuttle and shuttle never showed up twice. Expensive food at Starbucks in hotel. 2.29 for a bagel? 22.00 a day to park a car. the noise - a massive air conditioning machine outside my bedroom window - super bad sleep all night.
