Cheap, cheerful and ideal for contractors certainly not suitable foranyone on a leisure break. The staff were friendly and helpful, it was excellent value for money. Handy for the centre of town. The staff, the price and the breakfast. It was very quiet in the part we stayed gven it is right on the main pub crawl route. It is an excellent place to stay if you are on a stag weekend, but not a weekend away with the wife or girlfreind!!. 所有 评语 »
We stopped as a group of lads on a birthday do...We wanted cheap and cheerful, somewhere where we were not going to disturb elderly or kids... We wern't expecting anything special, and to be honest it was ideal for what we wanted. Location. the staff. comfortable bed, good location. Leaving. the location. The room was OK but there was no hook to hang my coat up in the room. We stayed in the 'annex' part of the hotel which I think maybe in line for refurbishment. For the money I guess it was ok we were only after a bolt hole for the weekend as we were taking part in the Great North Run, but I think there were a few touches they could have added to mask the tired look ie. unstained matching bed linen, unstained towels and a room freshener to mask any odours.The rooms looked dirty and tired. A lick of paint would work wonders. The curtains in our room were hanging off, and the window was on the main street so everyone could see in.....Door locks were not secure.....Some electrical points were hanging off the wall. No answer when 1st arrived , had to gain entrance via bar. Can't comment on food as checked out b4 breakfast served.rooms were very basic,showers didnt work properly,bathroom door not secure. breakfast. noisy while the bar was open, tho quiet when it closed, room filthy on arrival and staff slow to respond to requests, tho owner upset when we told him of this when we finally saw him just before we left. Expressed a preference for a non smoking room but the room smelt of smoke. Was directly above a busy pub. The room was dirty, the shower didn't work, it was an awful place. It was dirty. There was no wardrobe in the room, we had to ask for towels, there was no mirror in the room and only 1 socket the breakfast did not match the description on the website.
