Arrived in the middle of a wake where the vicar, clearly having finished his part of the proceedings, was able to offer more help than the receptionist who very clearly was still being overwhelmed by his – 110 mourners, who appeared to be doing anything but mourning, instead of the estimated 65. Our room was in a ‘lodge’ further up the hills than the arms so we had to use our legs and relocate our luggage, and the vicar had disappeared!. The room was extremely hot from the sun but was pleasant .

The rooms were of an excellent size, the bathroom ideal(though if you were not careful the power shower could blow you out of the room!!) and the location of the accommodation was brilliant. Total quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful to a fault and the nmanager Kevin could not do enough to make the stay perfect. Absolutely excellent.
The welcoming atmosphere, the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. The design of the rooms and the extreme cleanliness. The breakfasts are delicious and beautifully cooked. There is also a good restaurant serving beautiful food in the evenings if you wish from a full dinner to a bar snack. All set in the most beautiful village.
Clean bedroom Tasteful, modern decor. Friendly staff Hot food available Accommodation entrance hall complete with sofa and table with Yorkshire magazines. The novel lime chair!..nice touch for children.
Welcoming reception staff. Clean and well-equipped , comfortable room and facilities, though lodge a rather long and tricky walk from the bar in the snow and ice. Excellent breakfast charmingly served.
The room was spotless and situated in a separate lodge. It had up to date facilities comfortable beds together with both a power shower and bath. Excellent breakfast. Overall great value for the money.
close to Bishop Burton College where my daughter had her exam, very clean, comfortable, quiet, pub food was excellent, good parking, would definitely recommend.
Friendly staff, good bedroom facilities away from the pub so not noisey. Buffet food so very quick service and excellent choice of good value dishes.
Very comfortable new bedroom separate to the main pub so quiet too. Plenty of easy parking. Tasty and reasonably priced meals available.
It was situated in a pretty village, handy for race course and beautiful modern accomodation. Delicious food, excellent.

Very good standard of rooms for the money. Hotel bar ok but there is a cracking local pub just down the road.

The convenience for our destination. The food, when it eventually arrived, was good.

Little bit of black mould around bath sealant...2 stray hairs around the tiled side of the bath.
Long walk from lodge to hotel in inclement weather conditions.
Only minor points. Small screen television in the room and low level bedside lighting made it difficult to read.
The walk up the hill to the bedrooms, my mum found it difficult as older lady!!.

Shower was too fierce. Would have liked access to be easier from room to dining area. Although I'm not particularly disabled there were too many steps and slopes for someone who has to use a walking stick.

Breakfast ok but not great. Evening food "workmanlike" - but pretty reasonable value all in all.
Carvery food - large portions but not exactly Cordon Bleu! Wi Fi doesn't extend to all the rooms in the annex.
The pub is looking a little tired, maybe due a makeover, but the new lodge is fresh and inviting.

Accommodation separate from pub and felt a bit isolated. No lighting outside later.

all the staff was not good.
The bed is a standard double 4 feet 6 inches or 1.35 metres wide. This is far too small to be offered by a modern hotel, no matter the price. Sleep was poor. Mistakes were made in the restaurant ordering system which meant that my main meal was served a lot later than my wife'S. The manager and chef apologised personally but there is no substitute for getting it right first time. They did give me a reduction for the inconvenience.
Internet wi/fi could not get a connection, staff could not help! Given different passwords very frustrating also no lounge to relax in one single chair and one chesterfield in the restaurant for anyone who are waiting for a table all other seating for dinning only.
