This village inn with an award-winning restaurant rests in the picturesque village of Thorverton in Devon.
We are in the heart of the countryside, yet only 7 miles from Exeter, making it the ideal touring base for the north and south Devon beaches, Exmoor and Dartmoor.

Comfortable room, clean and quiet. Lovely village. Nice owners. Good evening meal in the pub.
Local fare, well prepared. Nice ambience.
Excellent food and friendly welcome.
Good food available in the hotel restaurant and bar. The hotel provided bar snacks rather than full menu in the evening when requested as we did not want a full dinner. The room was comfortable and heating control was available in the room. The hotel staff responded to requests for additional toiletries and tea etc.

The food was excellent and the atmosphere was congenial. It is obviously a popular place with locals.

Good location for the purpose of our stay. Room simply but fairly comfortably furnished, although small. Proper size bath sheets.

Be aware you will not get a mobile phone signal!.
Unfortunately the hotel is in a "dead spot" for our mobile network coverage. Wireless internet access would be a good idea.
The shower was a bit temperamental.
Our room was directly above the kitchen and was rather noisy when water was being used - banging pipes!.
the hotel is completely lost, far from the airport (30 minutes) and far from Exeter. The road to go there is a real pain.
Breakfast was pretty average.
bathroom was too narrow with a sliding door which never really shut; handbasin too small for washing other than hands.
no bath, just shower and very noisey when pub closed taxis tooting people shouting and swearing.
Menu in room different to Restaurant.
