Wonderful spot to stop overnight while travelling from York to the Lake District. Nick and his team are so friendly and helpful. Food is very nice, produce very fresh and good quality. Some great ideas from the chef. By the way, the place does not have a microwave so no precooked supermarket stuff you get in other places. Full English b´fast will keep you going until late afternoon. Room spacious, very clean and warm. Nice detail,- heated floor in the bathroom. A wonderful surprise at great pri.
所有评语 » The host was one of the most convivial. polite and helpful people I have ever come across in my travels. Nothing was too much trouble. The premises had recently been renovated and were clean, bright and tasteful. However the real showstopper was the food. I expected traditional Yorkshire stodgy fare, but what we were served beat the socks off an expensive French restaurant in Edinburgh we had been to a few nights ago. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and its restaurant. Exceptional hospitality from the owner Nick who couldn't do enough for you. Perfect location for exploring the dales. Great food and the rooms were top notch! Clean, comfortable, warm atmosphere with free parking and free wifi. Couldn't recommend this establishment more!. Welcoming,comfortable atmosphere,excellent food and well kept beer.Spacious triple room with comfortable beds.Friendly,cheerful staff giving good service.Clean well run pub/restaurant/hotel.Great value for money too. I liked that it was easy to find, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the evening meal was very nice, the place has been tastefully refurbished, and the location was excellent for exploring the dales. Friendly welcome from the owner, Nick. Comfortable bed and toasty underfloor heating in bathroom (room 6). Food was excellent and the option of dishes for smaller appetites was a nice touch. Gorgeous breakfast, everything cooked to perfection. staff were all friendly and nothing was too much trouble. As well as this, it had lots of options for people with allergies or food intolerances. very good food, breakfast, very accommodating staff, good value, great home made sausages. excellent meal and the staff could not do enough for us thanks for a great night out. Every thing else. great food. A well run family establishment where you are made to feel cared for and looked after. Excellent local food enjoyed for both dinner and breakfast. Warm cosy gastro pub. Well, to be honest the only thing I didn't like was having paid more to stay in a place in the same town which wasn't nearly as nice for the two nights before. Nothing at all!. Nothing. Nothing to dislike. like everything so not applicable. Room was small but more than adequate for 1 night's stay. Owner admitted that there was a few teething problems since they had only recently opened so I won't nitpick. They were doing well. nothing. Shower wasn't brilliant though it did the job Pillows were lumpy, so not comfortable for those of us with 'princess/pea' syndrome (my husband said they were fine)!. Nothing. road noise. Bed was a bit hard. There was some clutter in the corridors through to the accommodation which I think was only temporary due to minor on going refurbishment. We have stayed about 4 times before and this time the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Bad nights sleep for both of us.
