We had a great stay at the Duke of Cornwall. The rooms were lovely. We had a seperate toilet but that didn't cause any problems. After my mum became ill and had to go to hospital Debbie and Karen couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast was good. We weren't so keen on the location but it was great to get to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. The 'beer garden' was absolutely gorgeous. Debbie and Karen are keen gardeners and have created a beautiful space outside to sit and enjoy.

Both the tenants share the cooking two very charming ladies, who are eager and have a large menu choice. Use of local ingredient's such as Beef that is hung before use , great flavour. Large portions. Room was clean and great value good quality bed linen and a mattress for the price it was value for money. Well kept garden area. In a very good pub, with a good choice of beer and with a very good value restaurant. Breakfasts were superb, and all the staff very friendly & helpful. Room was large and nice and great to have sky sports available on the TV. Good location for getting to other places in Cornwall. I liked the duke of cornwall as it was near to where our relitives live,our room was spotless and comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome,i would highly recommend the food and the service was very good .I would stay again next time I visit st Austell . The proprietors and staff were particularly helpful and friendly, the food was wonderful, the rooms were clean and comfortable and their beer garden is a delightful sanctuary of beautiful flowers everywhere you look. I couldn't have chosen a better place. The food was excellent , much better than we expected and very good value for money . I'm vegetarian but it wasn't a problem . a lively , friendly pub with a lovely flower filled seating area outside which was very pleasant to find in the town. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. There was a good choice and plenty of food to satisfy a healthy appetite. The staff were extremely lovely. It was nice at breakfast that you could choose exactly what you wanted without the need of a menu! They have a small but perfectly formed beer garden totally alive with flowers. A friendly welcome. The room was modern, well furnished and clean. Full sky tv in the room. The food served from the menu was excellent as was breakfast. A great place to stay. Will certainly stay there again. The bedroom was clean,very good comfortable bed,staff good,Debbie & Karon who run the pub/B&B, added nice touch to the accommodation room,fresh flowers in the room,they were very nice.Breakfast good. On arrival we were greeted warmly by staff. Shown to our room, which wasn't quite suitable, so they changed us to another room without hesitation. Free parking. Not far from a decent pint :-). This b & b is a great fined and excellent value for money. We stayed in room 8 and had a comfy room with good facilities. we used their restaurant both evenings and enjoyed the food. This place was a real find. Food excellent, accommodation excellent and the staff were just a pleasure to speak to and they could not do enough to help when needed. we have stayed at the duke on several occations it is A very great place to stay & the food & accomodation is excellent, we have reccomended to our frinds. The room had a shower, but the toilet was in the corridor and shared, this was fine just would be better in any refurbishment for en-suite facilities. The grouting in the shower needs some attention. About a mile out of town, up a steep long hill, and bus service is only hourly. (2 hours on Sunday). -But taxi fare was only about £3. there was nothing I could think of . Nothing to dislike. Only minor complain was that the mattress was too small for the bed( I wondered if it was an Ikea base) so the pillows disappeared down the back . No ensuite, although our room had a shower in the corner, and a sink - thought £60 a night was a bit pricey for no ensuite. Last time we had a room with a lovely bathroom though, so just depends on luck of the draw!. It is quite noisy in the evenings in the rooms when the pub is still open. The road outside is busy too. However, after 11pm it does quieten down dramatically. Could hear some music from the bar downstairs. All off by 11-30. Not a problem though. If you stay in a pub then you do expect some noise. Breakfast time,limited to between 8 & 9 o/clock. no entertainment on a saturday night ,pub very quiet. I have no negative comments. Weak WiFi signal. Don't go here if you are watching your weight as the portions are huge. Nothing. nothing. N/A. We didn't have an ensuite. It said there was WiFi, but I never found it. I think it should be made clearer that the single room with "en suite shower" does not have a toilet. I presumed it was fully en suite and had a shower but no bath.The toilet is shared among another 2 or 3 rooms. The shared bathroom was sparklingly clean though. Location wasn't great but close enough to what we were visiting for (Eden Sessions). Some rooms you need to share a toilet. We only stayed one night!
