The hospitality we received was truly amazing and genuine - we really felt special and privileged to be there The manager and staff were always so pleasant and made us feel welcome the moment we stepped through the door There was a real sense of community which we loved and it gave the place a real welcomely feel The room was spacious and fresh and the en-suite bathroom was very nice The food there was fantastic and was wonderful experience for our tastebuds - the chef there is a genius, he pu.
所有评语 » The area is great for walkers nd very scenic,The Hostelrie was a whow the minute we saw it and then stepped inside , the linen was the purest white I`v ever seen evry thing was spotlessly clean the grounds were as well cared for and a pleasure to sit out and have a drink in the garden, we were with friends and family one couple whohad to leave early Sunday morning , the owner offered us breakfast half an hour befor the regular Sunday breakfast time and then moved tables so we 7 could sit togeth. My wife and I had a wonderful experience at a lovely Inn in Goodrich, Ross on Wye. 'The Hostelrie' is well worth a visit. We stayed for 3 nights from 29th August and were really well looked after by the Team, mine host Ayrton, Emily and Madge to name but a few. Very attentive staff with excellent food.( our congratulations to the chef and his team as well). Very comfortable accommodation, reasonably priced, clean and tidy. We would definitely recommend this Inn to anyone visiting the area. Far . Quirky, delightful historic building which has been tastefully restored in all the main areas. Once fully restored - a few bits still to do apparently - it will be a true gem. Well located for walks in superb countryside close to the famous viewpoint at Symonds Yat and set in a classic postcard type village- you will need a reliable GPS to find it I think although Goodrich castle is well signposted. Very friendly welcoming host and I would unhesitatingly stay here again. Friendly staff and able to eat in the pretty garden! It was family-run I think and though one or two minor 'defects' in the room they were anyway 'on the list' of things to be done. We were only on a night stop-over en route to Pembroke Dock so very easily found off A.40. There were some interesting places to visit nearby but sadly not much time for us to delay. Others visiting had stayed several times. The building was old and full of character and an excellent ensuite conversion was evident in the Coppett Room. Excellent shower and enclosure. Bar meals were good and resonably priced. Two separete free WiFi services were available. Excellent cooked breakfast was included in the price. (However there was a little confusion over breakfast times). Overall a very enjoyable stay. The room and en suite were clean and modern. The landlord and lady (sorry I am rubbish at remembering names) were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The real ale was first class. The breakfast was great and they went to the trouble of putting some black pudding on, even though they did not normally do that. Very warm welcome on arrival. The hotel is dog friendly which is an important factor for lots of people. Dinner can be taken in the Bar or Restaurant and the food was good.There are Real Ales and Local Ciders on offer in the bar. Good Breakfast too. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. The Staff were very friendly, and helpfull. Room was perfect, food was excellent. The hotel felt very welcoming, and deserved more than it's two star rating. The location was ideal,in a very quiet village, and I would throughly recommend this hotel, to anyone, and I would certainly go back there. We only stayed one nite, but had a fab time. We shall be back. The hotel was short staffed the evening we stayed so they closed the restaurant and everyone ate in the bar. Location was really excellent and easy parking. This is an excellent hotel ideally placed for exploring the Wye Valley. The food is fantastic as is the service and atmosphere. We have not stayed in a place which offered so much for such a small price, we will definitely recommend!. very comfortable as wet weekend & after day out coming back cold we were able to sit by a fire in comfortable chairs & nothing was too much trouble for staff. restaurant was excellent. Cereal choice poor ,toast and butter a tiny bit mean and no fruit but we saw that as a very minor detail as we all ate cooked if one didn`t eat cooked not much choice. there was nothing to dislike. TV system temperamental and may need upgrading.Considering the thick walls, sound surprisingly can carry from the bar to the rooms but the plus is that free wi-fi can be got throughout and thats quite an achievement. Cooked breakfast fine but could do with some fruit and yoghurt choices. The restaurant meals were very expensive and a little pretentious. Nothing!!!!!. Shower was slow flowing, need to upgrade to power showers i think. Nothing to dislike. I found the shower difficult to stabilise at one temperature, but a minor quibble as everything else was excellent. Obviously the 'makeover' is in progress, but the windows in Room 4 were very draughty! Also being over the bar area was a bit noisy although come 11.30 pm all went quiet. nothing at all. There is nothing at all not to like about this place. Cleaners went to walk in the room with out knocking, my partner was sleeping at the time. Also cleaning attention needed on skirting boards and Hoover the edges of carpet, a few dead insects on the floor and walls. There was really nothing not to like about the Hostelrie. N/A. n/a. nothing. Room a little tired, but going to be refitted at end of year. 1) En-suite bathroom could do with more shelf space (essential for contact lens wearers) and hook(s) behind the door 2) Menu rather overpriced: not really the greatest VfM 3) How about offering fruit at breakfast?. Came back in dark and steps needed to be illuminated. think it is over priced. Asked specifically for a room not over the bar as we have found them to be noisy but that was what we got. the room was really cold, even with the radiator on. we could not feel the warmth. Absolutely nothig. Nothing. 10am check out a little early. I left one item behind in the wardrobe, but on phoning the same evening, I was told it was not there. Surely the housekeeping staff, if they had cleaned the room properly, would have found it and advised the mamagement ?.
