We travelled to Halifax for a weekend wedding. We had a wonderful welcome from every member of staff at the White Swan. They could not have done more for us and we felt that they had a genuine interest in us as individuals. Parking at the Hotel was limited and we had worried about it on the way up. However, the helpful staff made quite sure we had somewhere to park, moved the car about for us when necessary and really took the stress out of things - an amazing service for a city hotel. 所有评语 » We loved every thing about the Hotel the staff were so helpful and friendly. Any thing we needed they got for us eg extra milk and sugar.On arrival they took our car keys and parked it away for the weekend and got it back out on our departure. The Breakfast was unbelieveable everything you could think of was available a table set out with every fruit you can think of every cereal fruit juices etc plenty of tea/coffee and then a beautiful cooked Full English followed by toast! The room was lovel. Very courteous and friendly staff. The staff parked our car in the car park and it was ready for collection in a nearby car park in the morning. Very comfortable room, great shower and instant access to Wi -fi. had evening meal in Italian restaurant which can be accessed through the hotel - excellent. We had drinks in the comfort of the hotel. The breakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was excellent, we had a superior room which was very spacious including a brilliant new bathroom, location of hotel is excellent, right in city centre but although we stayed at the weekend we heard no noise, slept like babies and best of all it was extremely cheap, couldn't fault it - first class. Will deffinately stay there again. Value for money was exceptional. I have paid four times as much for less in the past ! Staff were more than accommodating, food was excellent value, Italian restaurant was exceptional value, room was large and well equipped, location was perfect; you didn't even need a car for most things! shower was powerful enough to strip paint! a rarity in hotels. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and there was nothing that was too much trouble. The breakfasts were really excellent and the bacon top notch. We stayed at the hotel with friends and they say exactly the same. It was a super location and ticked all the boxes. The restaurant was excellent too, with large portions. Very friendly staff with a smile and very helpful. Great to be able to leave parking the car in your garage to the staff to move and great to have it ready for drive off as I left the hotel. Liked almost everything and Loved the helpful positive attitude of the staff - on reception and in the dining room at breakfast. Liked the situation of the hotel - so central and part of the heart of civic Halifax. Liked the TV and the room generally and the bathroom in particular. Super value break and would go again. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough to help. Even the sight of a muddy bike, even muddier rider and a little dog didn't put them off. Breakfast was yummy. The staff were very friendly and helpful and coped very well when the fire alarm went off and guests needed to evacuate the hotel. Staff parked the car for us and there was no extra charge. The car was moved outside the hotel on the morning of our departure. The hotel was nice, staff very friendly and they had really excellent breakfast. The hotel is literally 3 min. from the bus station. And there´s a very nice Italian restaurant next to the hotel, we were very satisfied - excellent food and good prices. The check in was very fast. The receptionist and the girl who served breakfast were both very nice. The room was clean and tidy and the bed really comfy.The bathroom looked as if it had recently been renovated and was very clean and modern. Excellent value for money much more welcoming than a motel for the same price. Attentive friendly staff. Comfortable clean room with private bathroom. Highly recommended and we will return here. The room was very noisy; the night life outside didn't stop (Friday night) until 4am. The room overlooked a MacDonald's that didn't close till 3am. Telly in room was on the small side, but only put it on to catch match of the day repeat on sunday morning as Newcastle had won on the saturday. Nothing relating to the hotel itself. The early morning refuse collections nearby were very noisy and may annoy some more fastidious guests; this was not a problem in our case. Nothing. Our stay was all positive. Nothing worthy of note. Small gripes - Breakfast fruit choice could have been wider and fresher - Hot water could have been quicker to get to the tap. More seriously cups in the room had not been washed/replaced from use on the previous day and strong paint fumes en route to room. Nothing i can say bad about this hotel. I don´t know if this can be complaint but the mattress on bed was so soft that it can literally swalllow us. I think this was meant to be - oh, look what a posh mattress we have. And it is good if you want to do some adult things. But it´s certainly not for sleeping. My back in the morning was about to kill me... But everything else was really great. The only thing we didn't like was the noise outside McDonalds which was just across the road at 3.30am in the morning. Not the hotels fault. It was a Saturday night though and the weekend before Christmas. Everything else was good and would definitely go back to this hotel. Nothing. N/a. There was NOTHING at all we did not like. Had to keep windows shut to stop late-night singing practice by somewhat happy drinkers. as you are in a central location which is excellent you have to try and remember this when the delivery driver at Mcdonalds made his delivery at 8am bank holiday Monday morning,he was rather noisy but maybe this should be pointed at Mcdonalds and not the hotel,. Limited parking outside the hotel could be a problem. Carpet clean but a little worn in the room. opaque glass in windows. I think it should be made clear that parking is on a limited basis with first come first serve rule. That the parking is valet so one would know to stop at the front of the hotel instead of going round looking for the car park!!!. Nothing. Everything was good. The lift made some very strange noises, probably because it's an old building. I really could find nothing to complain about. Not being able to park my own car in the lock up however I got over that. The Staff were still great!!. No dislikes whatsoever. Difficult to find because of one way system in Halifax. Limited parking. The bed was very soft - I personally prefer a firmer mattress but I slept fine. A little dated, street noise, beds very soft which can be uncomfortable for those with bad backs. No view in our room, but everything else made up for this. Nothing everything was just fine!. That there was no bar in the hotel. They have a few fridges at the reception desk but not a actual bar. Bed dipped in the middle, very uncomfortable. Could hear everything in the next room. Not pleasent hearing ........ noise from the street was awful lots of bad language and shouting till 3 in the morning. room overlooked Mcdonalds which was very noisy,deliveries came very early morning street cleaner came early too . nothing.
