It is a very clean, comfortable hotel, close to the center of Edinburgh. My room was very spacious, with great bathroom. Very tasty breakfast was delivered to my room at no extra cost. I appreciat their environmental policy of recycling and the selection of fair-trade teas, coffee and biscuits. Location, availability of parking, comfort of the rooms, price - all in all the best place we have found to stay in Edinburgh.

I was impressed with the hotel and was put in a very nice room on the third floor after asking to be moved from a ground level room (I wanted somewhere quieter). The room was large, clean and comfortable. The bed was huge. There was lots of wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was lovely. I thought the bottled water in the room was a nice touch, along with the tea and coffee making facilities.Really well designed room with lots of space and an excellent bed. The bathroom door: would have preferred if not glass, bit embarrasing if notsharing with partner etc.No. Liked eveything. Couldn't fault it. . Woken at 4.45am by noisy lorry delivery at the rear of hotel. I was fine, however if you have any inhabitions about the person you aresharing with - this is not the place to go - you can see thru thebathroom door quite clearly !!!. Room service ended at 9.30pm. The location is ok...but a little out of the way.a bit limited food on the grill and bit dry and tired looking fruit and sparce selections overall when we came within the last hour of breakfast at a few occations. Went down to reception to ask for an extra bath towel, to be told one would be sent straight up. Two days later it still hadn't appeared!. No bath in room. The only odd and slightly annoying thing was that I was woken up in the early hours every morning by a car stopping outside and someone knocking on a window (?) below. It sounded as though they were picking somebody up.The hot air heating system was noisy compared with conventional radiator type heating. Breakfast was a bit of a let down. Cold scrambled egg, raw tomato and cremated bacon. Staff seemed very hassled and everything was rushed.Our room was the situated near reception which unfortunately disturbed us when we were trying to sleep. I thought the price did not reflect that it was a 3 star hotel but syaing that we stayed in Edinburgh for Hogmanay so we expected the prices to be more expensive. not able to advacnce book parking. the reception staff could try smiling. Hotel states free parking available, this is not the case. There is a£10 charge for parking but beware only 6 spaces!!. Food service in the evening somewhat slow - would recommend going out as other places nearby are good - especially the Italian!. Everything was good apart from you are able to see the toilet and the shower through the glass of bathroom door. There was also a noise coming from the wipes every so often which sounded like it happened when people in rooms next door used their water.Limited menu. Glass door to bathroom. No double glazing. no parking - parting was additional charge. Shower unit should be a walk-in rather than part of the bath. The area close to the hotel looks a bit dilapidated.
