A touch of luxury in every way. This is a great place to stay withfriendly staff and an excellent menu. The building and grounds werebeautiful. Reception is particularly good. The homely but elegant hotel was perfect for our shorty break. The staff were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. Everything! Quiet location, nice surroundings, comfortable bed, great food, nice room, friendly staff.

Convenient location for Berwick on Tweed. A delightful country house in a beautiful setting, although we visited in February I'm sure the gardens would be pretty later in the year. They also made our dog feel at home. we would deffinately stay again. The location and atmosphere. Didn't have dinner because menu was difficult for my wife who doesn't eat meat. Fish and veggie options did not suit. The CD in the bar on repeat.Could do with double glazing as our room was a bit drafty. The bed was so uncomfortable. Mattress and pillow need replaced. Springs were evident in the mattress and pillows very flat and hard.The dinner menu was a disappointment (but the breakfast was great). Although the purpose of our visit was to walk, the main path from the hotel to Berwick was alongside the A1! There is an alternative coastal path.plumbing needs to be updated. Didn't like the "Nouvelle Cuisine" approach of the restaurant - a bitpretentious! But the food itself was ok. Better directions on how to find. your address says A1 North it is on the Southern side!. No, all ok. felt evening fixed menu was pricing and not good for such a nice hotel. breakfast excellent. poor or absent public address system for the wedding. could not hear very well and this was the experience of others too. Room small, no lift, but only one floor up. Limited entertaiment in theevenings. Nothing nearby and tv facilities pretty basic. food could have been better. Restaurant could do with a bit of background nmusic. i arived 1 hour early, driving from West Yorkshire I couldn't estimate how long it would take, but arriving exhausted and looking forward to a drink, I was sent away and told i was one hour early and to come back at two o clock. all i wanted was a drink. I had to go to a van on the border and have an awful cup of tea in a plastic cup and sit in the car for another hour. I was so disappointed. Dinner was disappointing for the price. Breakfast was very poor- bacon dried out and boiled, black pudding very dry and overcooked. bed too small, bathroom in need of refurbishment.
