  The location was excellent. They had a area for free beverages that included Red Bull, which are about $3 in Florida where I live. They gave a lot of resources( maps, directions, etc) for getting around town and making the most of your stay. Spoke good English and let us check in two hours early. Very modern and posh decor. It was also on the side street, and our room was not facing the street, so it was quiet. We had a 8months old baby, so we were worried about the street noise. The room was clean and modern and big enough to even have a cot inside the room. There is free 24h coffee and water, which was excellent.

  We only had one night in this hotel and then moved to a 5 star in the Port Olympic area. The location of the Colonial hotel was fantastic. Across the street is a fantastic local area full of interesting resteraunts and bars. Also, I asked the reception about local places to go and hang out and listen to good music, and they were more than willing to show me where to go.   We were really really lucky. We were given a room on the last floor (8th) which has a private balcony overlooking Barcelona and the Gothic quarter. The room was very fresh and clean and it was very nicely decorated. Mind you I am not very fond of modern design -- I typically like places from the beginning of the 20th centuary.
