The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful, always smiling, and solicitous without being in your face. Breakfast was plentiful, lots of choices and value for money; use of the business centre at no extra cost was a godsend - see wi-fi
The entrance/lobby very spacious and felt homely. I would definitely stay at the Portswood again

The rooms are stunning and really tastefully decked out and it's well situated for central Cape Town and the VandA shopping centre. This was an excellent hotel. It was situated just outside the Waterfront and although you could walk there, they had a courtesy bus that ran every half hour. The location cannot be beaten, just a few meters away from the ocean in a very safe area. And yet, it's easy to walk into town through Green Point Park.
The staff are excellent. A broken TV was replaced within 15 minutes.

I was upgrade to a seaview room at not extra cost. The staff were beyond wonderful. Very helpful and attended to my requests immediately. Yes there is contruction next door but it really didnt hassle me. I will DEFINATELY use this hotel for my future business trips to Cape Town and will be recommending to others. The staff were friendly,courteous and efficient without being intrusive. They went beyond the call of duty to assist. The hotel itself is what a 5 star hotel is all about, and I have stayed in five star hotels throughout the world,some of which don't match up to this.Would definitely stay there again.
