Overall we had a good 5-night stay at Gruner. Better than expected.
The girl who received us was really nice, and aswered well to all my questions. We had no problems with CHECK IN, I enable my mobile for international calls so after three times dialing the wrong numbers I finally reached them. Easy. Good LOCATION, not in city center but central.

Clean, quiet, comfy beds, good wifi. The kitchen utensils are not for rental, you just leave a deposit and they give you the money back. I recommend bringing own sheets and towels to save money, because they give you blankets anyway. Despite what I read in some of these comments, there are soap dispensers in the shower and sink. I was in single room apartment several weeks. Whole hostel building is new and clean. Bathroom is nice, with floor heating, kitchenette is useful for preparing quick meals and hot drinks, free WiFi works fine. Staff was nice and friendly.
Don't miss city view from the roof of hostel.
