  The Ellingsens Pensjonat is exactly in the oldest tram-line of Oslo, (1875), the "Holtegata" street! Its next to the shopping street "Bogstadveien". The line 19 comes every 10 minutes from 5am 'till late and bring you all the way down to the city center in around 7 minutes passing through the beautiful neighbourhood of Uranienborg. The bathroom a the opposite of the reception could be rebuilt - Located in a nice area close to the embassy district and well serviced with trams. However, I would recommend the using the city cycle hire network for which there is a stand just across the road. You can buy a card from the tourist information to use these and it is a great way to get around Oslo. The pensjonat is very clean and decorated in a modern style with very friendly and helpful staff.

  It was in a perfect location, quiet but near enough to walk to all the main attractions. The hotel had a lovely ambiance, very traditional with friendly staff.   Friendly smart attentive, and willing members of staff from check in to check out. Staff were the best I have known, primarily as quite chilled and not overly formal. I simply cannot stand any place where the staff appear subservient. Here the balance was perfect. Cleanliness 10/10. The only complaint I have is about the couple who sat at the breakfast - When I checked in to this Hotel i didn't like the first room I had, I am very particular in when it comes to colors of my sorounding specially when it comes to the colors of room or colors of the curtain( some people are just like this) I called the reception right away and asked them if they could give me another room with light soroudings...5 minutes later they gave me the room that was just perfect..excellent service..no wonder I am here when I am in Oslo.

Finding the hotel is easy, it's next to Stortinget in the centre of Oslo. They responded - Perfect central location. 1 minute from the Parliament, 3 minutes to the Town Hall and harbour. Less than 10 min walk from main train station. Staff very friendly, we even got upgraded from a superior room to a suite. Very clean. Breakfast selection very very good. Free wi-fi included, plus 2 PCs in the lobby connected to a printer, so we managed to check in and print our boarding passes on our last day.
