The Poorthuis is located at the entrance to the Castle Vaeshartelt estate, in a 10 hectare park with ponds and centuries old trees.
The history of the Poorthuis goes back to 1868, when the driveway to Castle Vaeshartelt gained the gatekeepers home which was also hired out for guests of the castle. At the beginning of 1900, the home was replaced by the current gatehouse.
The comfortably furnished house has a walled terrace and offers a view of the meadows where cows graze in the summer.
