Hotel Pax is located in the centre of historic Amsterdam, in between the Keizersgracht and the Herengracht.
Many tourist attractions such as the Anne Frank House, the Red light District and the famous “Nine Streets” shopping district are just a 5-minute walk away. Many cafés, restaurants and nightclubs are nearby as well.
There are numerous tram stops and metro stations in the surrounding area. Hotel Pax is just a 10-minute tram ride from Central Station.

Hotel Pax is a cute, clean place to stay for a few nights, and the location is absolutely superb. It's right on a major street between Anne Frank House and Dam Square. Lots to see and do, all within walking distance. From Central Station, it was only 2 short tram stops, then a 4 minute walk at most. (Trams are easily accessible from Dam Square). There's also a full Supermarket within walking distance across from the Waag (historic city gate). This hotel is perfect for the budget traveler lo. 所有 评语 »
The hotel is exactly what is written in the ad. But you'll be
surprised positively. It is an old building (like most part of houses
there) with a big stair to enter. The owner is a very nice person and
helped me with my baggage when I arrived. He also gave a lots of hints
about the city and the touristic spots. Honestly, I was afraid of
shared bathroom and shower, but they are individual e there aren't
many rooms per floor, so every time I needed both were empty and I
could use it. By the way, .
- Friendly, accomodating staff
- Convenient location in order to explore the city, especially on foot
- We had a balcony with our room (I believe it to be #20) which was a nice suprise allowing us to smoke
- Modern furnishings and decor in excellent condition
- The fridge came especially in handy to keep the beer cool
- Very reasonable price.
Light, clean and comfortable room in an excellent location. We were able to walk everywhere and would stay here again.
Also, I recommend the Italian restaurant just down the road (heading towards Dam Square) on the corner next to the canal. Order the ribs! Amazing!.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was clean, and enough for a short stay even though it was small. The towels were changed every day. The wifi in the room was also good enough. And the location - so close to the city centre and to tram station.
Friendly, helpful staff. Great location (2 minute walk from Dam Square).
Very nice room with tv, kettle, sink and seating area for a very nice
price. 2 sets of keys which was a godsend as there were four of us and
spent a lot of time separately.
The location was excellent! Absolutely loved it for the location. Pax and his brother were very hospitable and carried our luggage for us up the steep stairs. The toilet and shower were small but very very clean.
Modern and in excellent condition, the room was not very big but enough and included a mini fridge and kettle. The access stairs are steep but that is inevitable in the historical buildings of the city center.
The Pax hotel in my opinion has been excellent. I have not had any problems. Best perhaps is its location in the center, the cleanliness of the hotel and its price. Everything went perfect.
Clean room, great location, loved having a balcony to smoke on which was
a surprise as not advertised with one! Would stay here again when
looking for a cheap hotel in amsterdam.
Location an helpful staff. They carried my suitcase up the steep stairs. Public transport less than 100m away bus stop. Supermarket close by for they do not serve breakfast.
Pax is a great hotel. Cozy, comfortable and facilities with all what is needed, helpful staff. I recommend this hotel and would choose it again if I have the same budget.
Very well located in the heart of Amsterdam, close to everything: centraal station and also House of Anne Franck. Friendly staff, clean and nice room. Good quality/price.
Loved the location and balcony. We were able to walk around the whole city from this base, lots of cafes, bars and restaurants on the same road as the hotel.
super location, very convenient…
and the stuffs, handsome, and helpful, very nice indeed.
would like to stay here next time and recommend to friends.
Perfect location for exploring the city of Amsterdam. Small and basic
but very satifactory room, quiet, nice bathroom, clean. Recommended!.
best 1-star hotel i ever seen! good location (10 minutes to center), best view from window! clean. Staff is excelent.
Great location, bargain price, spotlessly clean, cannot fault hotel pax in any way. Would definitely stay here again.
Price
Staff very friendly and helpful
Room was clean for the most part.
Balcony :-)
Warm room :-).
Location perfect. Great value for money.
No complaints.
Very friendly and helpful.
We were satisfied! Very friendly owner/staff! Fantastic location. Kjell and Maggi.
The Pax Hotel was very clean and in a great location. The value is excellent.
good value, very nice staff, spotless.
overall a very nice hotel.
other than the typical steep stairs in holland, a good stay.
If you don't have a fat budget, here is your best choice.
Would stay here again. Central, lovely staff, good value.
Very nice. Cheerful staff close to city centre.
Very big and clean room, good location!.
its near to centrum its a good.
great location friendly staff.
friendly staff,location.
Location.
I have stayed in Hotel Pax for 6 nights in Noveber 2013. I have selected
this place based on the good reviews and rating
scores on different websites and my selection was not bad. I have made my reservation via letsbookhotel.com 3 months before my
planned trip date which saved me some good amount of money. The reservation and confirmation process was very smooth.
I got a basic small room in the first floor. My room has washing basin, fridge, heater, small TV (almost useless). The room
also ha.
the location was super, close to the city centre and even didn't need to use public transportation to get somewhere.
The hotel is situated in the right place for sightseeing. It's 5 min to Damm Square. The street has lots of cafes.
small property, great localization! Very nice recepcionist/ owner.
How central it was for everything. The balcony was lovely.
Very helpful staff.
Location.
Price is only good thing about it, but indeed there're better hotels
for same price.
The heater was not possible to control (or I couldn't find the
correct control) and sometimes was too hot, sometimes was turned off.
Ask for information about that, maybe there's n easy way to use it.
- The amount of stairs.
The stairs are steep but we were well aware that was the case and it was only getting the luggage upstairs that was hard. I also had a really heavy and large suitcase.
The steep stairs! But it was a good workout anyway :).
Doesn`t have any luxury, but is very economic.
Stairs but you get this anywhere in amsterdam
small TV in very awkward position to watch but did have lots of english channels.
The stairs but it is like all the central hotels in Amsterdam. The bed was very basic and no bed cover.
I liked everything, if you come you should know the are steep stairs and it's a bit hard to lift the luggage.
Its very basic as it states, however perfect for young people/travellers. If your after luxury however its not for you.
Dust under my bed.
Facilities were clean for the most part except urine on the bathroom floor from another guest one day, all day.
TV didn't work.
Nothing really. At 70 euros per night I can't complain.
No air conditioning.
watch out for the stairs... :-).
there is no shampoo or soap in the shower.
Nothing to not like.
room was located right next to the checkin desk and got woken up by the front door bell a few times other than that no complaints.
steep staircase just like anty other traditional house in Amsterdam.
too small rooms, but for this price that`s fine.
Ask for a room that is not beside the stairs or the shared toilet to
avoid the noise from people going up and down.
It was possible to hear everything that was going on in the hotel besides in my room - walls are very thin. A couple of loud russians were staying right next to my room so sometimes it got very hard to fall asleep or not to wake up by 8:00 o'clock because of the noisy noises or early morining clean-ups.
The stairs.
rRoom was a bit old, nex to the stairs- when somebody was walking I heard everything.
Did not have duvets, the tv was very small. The towels were really small.
There was no lift and there were 80 steep steps to our room though we were helped with the heaviest bags. The heating didn't work that well either initially.
All a bit tatty. Cleaning the room apparently didn't include washing the used coffee mug.
It's not possible to call this "hotel", it's
100% hostel. &Quot;room" is very small, very noisy like you
are sleepping on a street. Internet is poor. My score is 0.5 out
of 10 points.
