  Having just returned from a hike up to Everest Basecamp we were looking for a nice place to chill out and enjoy a hot shower, but without having to spend relatively ridiculous amount of cash at the big name hotels given that very little of that money ends up in the local communities ... so we ended up booking 5 nights at Thagu Chhen, and it turned... 别人怎么说 » out to be an oasis away from the clutter and air pollution of Kathmandu. The rooms are huge with kitchen facilities, and a separate bedroom and lou - This boutique hotel is a very beautifully restored traditional home. The apartments have everything you could need, and are very comfortable. The views from the rooftop are good. Breakfast (served in your room) was very delicious. Staff were very friendly and the manager/director was very accommodating and provided a lot of useful information. Great location too, only a short stroll to the Durbar Square. - Hotel Thagu Chhen is Fantastic! It is the best hotel we have stayed in in Nepal. The rooms are comfortable and cosy and really clean, their is crispy white bed linnen and the staff is very friendly and helpfull. The hotel is in the city center of Bhaktapur, nearby Durbar Square. On the top roof terras of the hotel there is a nice view over the city. Next time I would definitely choose this hotel again.
