  We had an excellent stay in this authentic place, located just in front of big dunes of Erg Chebbi. The hotel is located in Hassilabied village (4 km from Merzouga). I've found this village much more pleasant than Merzouga. There are less hustlers pushing you to take a camel trip, it is cleaner and more relaxing.   It's located in the centre of the souq and you do not expect to meet such a quite accomodation. The roof terrace is unbelievable. You have a perfect view on the medina and can enjoy the atmosphere. The Riad is about 400 years old and if you can have a look into the owners part.   Auberge La Source is placed just in front of the big erg.Hassan´s family is very nice and the service is perfect. Breakfast and dinner were included and they were always big and very delicious. We stayed there only one night but we have many unforgetable memories - sunset in dessert with cammels and our perfect guide Mohamed (thanks a lot, Moha... 别人怎么说 » med, it was really a beautiful experience). We can highly recommend this Auberge to other visitors. You will be very happy there. Ivana and Vladimir - La Source is located in the small village of Hassi Labied, a 15min drive from Merzouga and a short walking distance from the Great Dune of Erg Chebbi. The view is wonderful from their terrace. The auberge is clean and welcoming, brothers Omar and Said treated us as real friends and their sisters cooked the best tagines. We would love to go back to La Source and definitely recommend you to choose them.

  The staff were welcoming and friendly and were always ready to help. Nothing was too much trouble - a real 'family' feel to the hotel, although they have 10 rooms I think. The rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated with a real eye for detail.   Everything about Riad Mamouche was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we came really late by car but we found the hotel easily. Located at Meknes Medina, just 7 minutes walk from the main square and 3 minutes from medina markets, it has a private car parking just in 100 meters nearby, thus you can come by car and leave it in a safe place.   Though we found the facilities quite basic, this riad delivered what we came for. Ali, the owner, was very available, friendly and responsive to our needs. We wanted to experience desert culture and because of him we did. The fact that the riad is located - We were very well greeted by Ali and his staff. Ali quickly arranged jeep and dromedary (no camels in Africa) trips for us. The room was nicely decorated, Maroccan style. We had a wonderful evening meal under the tent by the pool and all you can eat breakfast. Above all we got what we came for, to see the desert, visit a different culture and meet friendly people.

  We loved our stay here, including the night in the desert they arranged for us. The staff was amazing and the family that owns the guesthouse was incredibly welcoming -- Hassan sat on the terrace with us for half an hour just to chat after we arrived. They're also working to preserve the dunes and keep dirtbikes and quads off them. Great people!
