  Everything! This is my first (and only) stay in "riokan", so I can not compare it with other "riokans", but I really enjoyed "riokan experience" in Annex Katsutaro.   I've spent 8 nights at this wonderful ryokan, with my daugther and a friend of her (both teenagers) and... we really liked everything! Our room was large, comfortable, and full of light. Large futons, nice pillows, heavy curtains to block the light from entering the sleeping room, made us sleep very well.   We had a 1 month trip around Japan :- Tokyo(Asakusa), Tokyo(Yokahama), a cruise, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka & back via Helsinki. Throughout Japan we were impressed by the politeness, friendliness & cleanliness & we are sure all hotels at all levels meet the same standards. It is however a unique experienc - Hotel is a quiet and peaceful haven in a busy, interesting area, just minutes away from many things to see and excellent traditional shopping. Staff are helpful, although it will help if you can speak a little Japanese. I have stayed in their tatami rooms before and this time stayed in a single (western style) room which was spacious for a single. Good to have free wifi, unlike many hotels. Tip - buy the koto cd at the reception desk as a memento.

  I've been staying at ryokan Sansuiso 2-3 times a year for the past 15 years. The value for the price is great. Don't expect the Ritz here, this is a small traditional style Japanese inn, the tatami mat rooms are small with fouton for sleeping.
