The receptionist was extremely helpful and caring without being intrusive. All that we thought we needed - it was right there for us. The bathrooms and toilets were really clean and they were always accessible despite being common to all guests. The tatami room smelled wonderful and it was a pleasure sleeping on the hard floor although we are not used to it. What a wonderful place to stay! If somebody wants to feel some Japanese culture I do recommend this ryokan! I would definitely come back here with a pleasure! The staff very helpful and nice. We had also lots of additional information about Kyoto from them.
