For me, number one when I'm traveling alone is the interactions I have with the staff at a lodging. In this case, they were extraordinarily welcoming, helpful, and very kind. They booked tours and restaurants and steered me to local sites and pubs. Breakfasts were great (I was there on Weekends when they serve the full Irish breakfast. Excellent best organic smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and brown bed and then the usual meat offerings. The location is excellent-- as a woman traveling alone,.
所有评语 » We stayed in their 2 bed self catering studio apartment. The apartment over looks Galway bay & is a 2 min walk into town, it is an ideal location. The apartment itself was very nice, with tv, sky (also in both bedrooms), we could all watch different channels which was great. Take note that this apartment as a fridge, cooker, dishwasher & a dryer, so remember to take ur own food if you want to. Breakfast is included in the price, however you have to go to the guest house itself which is. The manor looked nice and staff was very accommodating. We were traveling with another couple.and were asked to move to a 2 bedroom penthouse, The apartment was on the water and had a beautiful view of the bay and the docks! Couldn't have asked for a better location- very close to the main shopping/ pub area of town and to travel companies to arrange tours. Breakfast basics were left at the apartment so we didn't have to go back to the manor. The owner went out of her way to assist us with lugg. We stayed in the 2-bed apartment near the docks.It was lovely and spacious with modern decor.beds were really comfortable and lovely patio area looking out onto the bay,though there is a metal scrapyard down at the docks also which taints the view a bit!!The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and weren't "kicking" us out the next day which was nice. The location was excellent - quite near the relatives we were visiting. Excewllent for shopping and sightseeing. Staff were lovely and welcoming. In the morning the manageress came to talk to use finding out where we were from etc. nice touch I thought. Being upgraded was such a bonus to our trip. We honestly felt like we'd been away for a long weekend not just a night. Directions and instructions were all easy to follow, and the location was superb. Best nights sleep in weeks. The staff especially the owner were really friendly & informative I felt like family after 3 days as I stayed an extra day!!! Great situation walking distance to town,bus station would def recommend if no car. Staff were amazing, even adhering to my ridiculous request for a picture of Marty Morrissey. The owner Corinne couldn't do enough for me, treated me like one of her own! Lovely lady and excellent guesthouse. The location was great - an easy 10 minute walk from the center of Galway with its bars, restaurants and nightlife. Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. Friendly owners. the reception was lovely - I was offered a warm cup of coffee after walking in the piercing wind - room was warm - all appliances worked well - alltogether a lovely stay. The staff was very friendly giving us tips for what to do and where to eat in town and the best direction to our next destination. The breakfast was excellent!. The apartment is lovely with a huge balcony and with a view to the water and boats :). Room we stayed in was very quiet, very central to city as soon as i arrived we felt very welcome staff all friendly and would stay again. Close to new coach station. I stayed till midnight and owner made me discount (10 euro) for last night from normal price. Very warm people, the owners know how to host their guests, excellent accommodation, I would recommend it to everybody. Cheap for Galway and close to the bus station. Clean and warm. Free wi- fi with good connection and speed. The staff were friendly the room was cosy and clean, it was less than a five minute walk to eyre square. Breakfast was amazing. Good location and friendly owner. Location. The accommodations are basic--more like a pensione than a typical U.S. style b and B. My room was small but I was alone and not hanging out in my room! Not a lot of electrical outlets, so I charged phone and Ipad one at a time. My room was in another building and it was dark to get there at night, though I still felt safe and that I was well looked after. The only negative I could give would be that the carpets were a little dirty, however in their defence there was a rug doctor cleaning machine in the hallway. Therefore I presume they have intentions on cleaning the carpets. The toilet off one of the bedrooms was out of order. It was not fixed during our 10 day stay. It really wasn't a big deal because the other one worked fine. People tend to party in the dock area and it can be a bit noisy at night. Ear plugs work well. The toilet in the ensuite wasn't working but the sink and shower was still ok.Breakfast is in the main guesthouse which is a bit of a walk away so if you choose to stay in the apartment don't bother with breakfast as you can cook something for yourself there.It's not a major thing but the freezer needs defrosting!!also there is only space for 1 car in the car park,we had 2 with us and had to park in the public spaces across the road@€1.50 an hour which is quite expensive. leaving... couldn't find a bottle opener and there was no milk. Tiny rooms but if you are not planning to spend much time in the rooms, it's totally fine. Nothing. We were given a room in a separate house off the main guesthouse. The room was a bit run down although it was clean. The shower door was broken.If I were to stay here again I would request to stay in the main guesthouse. I felt disappointed with the room having been so impressed with the guesthouse itself. Nothing. The bathroom wasn't in my room so made things a bit awkward being on my own with two young children but it wouldn't put me off staying again. There wasn't shower gel in the shower, weak pressure of water in the sink. Really small room. Old and dirty kettle. Not Irish breakfast =). A bit noisy, and not just from other guests but also from the family owners! There's a ightclub near by and a lot of foot traffic from students the worse for drink so really a place for those going out in Galway. I was working so probably wasn't the best choice for myself. It's a grand B&B but more for leisure trips than business. I regret not getting up to have the breakfast it smelt lovely. Carpet in the bathroom. All good. Thin walls. Rooms were a bit dated but comfortable and clean. That I was staying for longer!. the room is not so warm... Nothing. Room could be redecorated. The mushrooms were almost raw and had no flavour - one section of tomato was nice the other section of tomato was raw and tasteless. Otherwise the breakfast was good. The accommodation was very basic, with some rooms being too near to a busy road. The dining area was also a bit cramped and the continental breakfast was a bit silly - a few slices of cheese and cheap ham slices. The room decor was a bit shabby and there were bits and bobs missing here and there (lightbulbs, fittings, etc). The place had quite an "old" feel to it, for the price we paid I expected something a bit better in terms of quality of the room. The rooms are a bit small. Some things just need some maintenance (like the shower head). The walls are far from sound proof, so you hear everything that's going on. breakfast could be richer, but it was ok. - Apartment in very poor condition (various light bulbs not working, broken curtains etc.) - quite dirty (especially kitchen equipment). Nothing really but it was just really average in all areas. Also a bit run down. Very small room but didn't bother us in the slightest!. It was a bit on the noise side for me and there was a smell of fried food form breakfast throughout the whole place. I really don't liker the smell of food anywhere a part from where i'm eating. Thats just me. Everything could use an update. Uncomfortable bed. The breakfast set up had moldy cheese, the fingerprints and stains flower pots on the table indicated that they were not cleaned for months. Owners insistence on paying cash not credit card also left weird impression. The smell of the kitchen came straight into the room.
