The room was clean and light. The welcome was warm, nice and informative. The room was simple but sufficient, the Air con worked, so did the frigde and the shower, even if the bathroom was quite small. Why some people complain about noise I don't understand. You close the shutters, you close the Windows and door and you turn on the air con, and it's fine. Some people seem to think they can stay in the middle of a town, with lot of bars and restaurants, go to bed at 10 PM and sleep with the door.
所有评语 » Me and my daughter loved the location in front of the sea side and in the middle of the old town. It was comfortable and my daughter had a room size private varanda. The staff was extremely helpful about excursions and also trying to even guess what we wanted and needed. We could make tea and eat at home, with fridge and and water boiler in the rooms, but there were lovely restaurants just outside also. Great location on sea front and the staff excellent - helpful and friendly. The rooms are in an old seafront property which has been well converted into good sized rooms The town facing rooms are quiet and very convenient for the everything you need - shops, restaurants etc. The property is linked to a travel agency on the ground floor level so any information on local area can be easily obtained. Right in the heart of the action, we had a room that faced a quiet shopping street. You can pay more for rooms with the sea view but I imagine the noise from the bars and tavernas below could be a problem for some. Good air-con and super fast wi-fi in our room (#1) as the hub was right outside the door ! (If only I'd thought to pack an ethernet cable.......). Good size comfortable room looking over the sea. Don't eat at the restaurants along the seafront, there are plenty offering better value and quality in old town. Due to roadworks along the seafront parking was difficult but there are plenty of free parks below the fortress along the seafront. We really enjoyed the owner and his sharing information and such. Very helpful. We had a sea view room with a wonderful balcony overlooking the harbor/sea. Beautiful. Very convenient location to old town, restaurants on the harbor walkwalk. A great experience. 3 very hospitable brothers running the rent rooms. They also have a travel business below. Great location and very good WiFi. Simple and clean rooms with fridge, electric kettle etc. for your own breakfast. - nicely furnished room with fridge, bathroom, wifi ok - in the middle of the action, two minutes' walk to Venetian Harbour - owner (helpful, efficient) is also boss of the adjacent travel agency. Stavros was very nice. He carried our luggage. We had the best room balcony facing the sea. Everything is accessible: coffee shops, restaurants, beach, old town fortreza. Going back again. Clean, bright, and fresh room in perfect, central but still quiet location in the old town. Very kind and helpful staff. we really liked the owners, they are very helpful and friendly. the location is excellent. The rooms were very clean, the location was lovely, near the sea and the old town. Good location close to the beach and "the evening street". For the price you pay, it's really a good deal, our room was spacious and we had a small balcony facing the old town. Nothing really. The stairs were a bit steep, but that's how it is. :-) We would come back, the people there were really nice. Loved the rooms on our first visit - returned at the end of our holiday to one of the sea front rooms and found them noisy at night - lots of bars in the area so perhaps understandable but worth considering when booking if you like to retire quite early. (Apparently the music stops before midnight, so if you are 'party animals' you might not be concerned). Although the shutters and excellent windows meant good soundproofing from the street below, the long tiled corridors amplified even modest conversations to cathederal like proportions. A few "shhhhh" signs are needed. No English channels on TV, (not a deal breaker !) Old building = tiny bathroom & very steep stairs. (Peter Crouch would fit through the door !). Typical (in all of our Greek hotels) hard mattress. - Parking facilities not really near: public space (free) Around 500 m further east on Sófokli Venizélous st. off (or beyond Venetian Harbour pay parking at fortezza) - I assume ANY Rethymnon beach front hotel would be a challenge to nightly noise sensitive folks until 4.00 a.m.(room to the back street less noisy). no smoke detectors. Very noisy bar close to hotel. The room and bathroom are a bit worn out and the bathroom is not the tidiest.Considering the location on a busy central street it's quite a noisy place for sleeping.
