Pension George is run by a family who take such great care of their guests. For instance they picked us up at the port when our ferry came in at 1:00 am and dropped us off at the airport and port when it was time to leave--with no extra cost! Karterados is a 15 minute walk to Firos --but if you are interested in the people of Santorini--Karterados is where many of them live. There are great tavernas--Savas is one-- close by that are cheap and have amazing food. We toured the island everyday.
所有评语 » Location was quiet and away from crowds of tourists in Fira. Only a 20 minute walk to Fira or 5 minute bus ride. The little village has retaurants if you don't want to go to Fira and of course cheaper! Helen the owner is an English woman married to a Greek so her English is perfect which can be handy!! She is also very helpful regardinf tours etc and they are very accommodating regarding pick up and drop offs to port or airport for free. The pool is lovely. I had a little studio that had cooki. Cozy, quaint and beautiful place with luxurious garden and pool area. Generous breakfast (you can make special orders) almost equivalent to buffet. Staff (family members) extremely helpful and kind. Close to bus station and traditional restaurants (cheaper than Thira). Highly recommended to everyone seeking a calm and comfortable place in Santorini. Perfect quiet location 1.5 km outside of Fira. Close to reasonably priced restaurants and tavernas. Wonderful links to buses in all directions. Loved the village/friendly neighbourhood atmosphere, lovely grounds with quiet pool area. This is good plain, basic accommodation set in a beautiful surrounding. Loved Santorini and Pension George!. Pension George is a very nice, comfy, warm and relaxing place. The swimming pool is perfectly positioned. It is very close to Fira, capital of the island. Next to the pension there is a supermarket, bike rent, restaurant and bus stop. The staff is friendly and really helpful, available any time. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with recommendations to explore the island and reserve tourist trips as well. The free transport to and from the hotel was really nice and helpful as well. The room was perfect with a great view of the ocean!. Delightful staff who went that extra mile to look after us. We really appreciated transfers from the port and to the airport when we left - even though it took some time and our ferry was late. *-+warm staff (family business), beautiful pool area and decor, location in suburb of Fira easy to access bus, great balcony off rooms, frig w/comp wine, nice breakfast in quiet room. Spotlessly clean and very friendly and helpful staff. Less than 20 mins walk to the Capital. Friendly and famlary. Personal service. Good breakfast. Clean swimmingpool. Lovely Pool area, very friendly , central location. I wouldn't bother with the 6euro breakfast. It's continental which means bread, jam, yoghurt & coffe/ tea. There is a mini mart around corner or up the road a little restaurant you can get eggs etc for same price. Pillows are very flat and bath towels very rough!!. Wifi signal is not accessible from room. Actually it's very hard to catch except in very specific locations. 15 minutes of walk from Thira (but that can be seen as a plus) Taking a shower soaks the whole bathroom (but that's typical of Greek hotels) No shampoo. Would have been nice to have a cold water bottle in bedroom upon arrival. The mattresses really need to be upgraded - rather lumpy and hard. I placed a heavy blanket over the mattress and under the bottom sheet to make it more comfortable. This is the only negative comment I would have. The wifi connection wasn't good in all the areas of the pension. The beach is a little far from the Pension but easy to reach as well with with pubblic tranpostation. We only stayed 2 nights and were given a room that had no view - but that did not matter. We found the pillows uncomfortable - but mainbly a very positive experience. Hard beds, little hot water (but this is a problem in many places). Rooms are basic. They were overruned and practically ignored us.
