Ten minute stroll to/from Syntagma Square, to/from the Plaka, the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum, Monastiraki, and about half an hour's stroll to National Archaeological Museum. The hotel is in a nice old refurbished house, tastefully painted and decorated. The rooms are exceptionally clean and pleasant; they have a small fridge, and guests are supplied with robes and slippers to wear. The first room we were booked into, although clean and pleasant, was dark and small, so we asked if it were po.
所有评语 » Just returned from Athens, where we've spent 5 days. We are lucky to have chosen Sweet Home, because it really felt like a home away from home. The owner, Afroditi is a warm and kind lady who really makes you feel like a guest in her own house. She is always willing to help you with an advice or information regarding Athens and its surrounding. The location of the hotel is also very, very good, because one can easily walk to almost every important attraction. This is very convenient when you're. Location ( close to 2 stations and 7 minutes walk to bus stop - X95 for airport ) Clean since this is less than a year old hotel.... the breakfast is very good for a boutique hotel. We stayed 2 nights, and there was variation the next morning, whereas some other hotels had the same breakfast for 3 days, the morning we were leaving, the dining staff let us start 10 minutes earlier ( so we ate what was ready) , nice lady. The interactive tv was also a treat, we brought only an IPAD, so we wer. This hotel is absolutely marvelous: 1) Its location is simply perfect: just 5 minutes’ walk from Syntagma. And, what’s even more important, it’s situated far from hustle and bustle of the city, in a quiet side street between Mitropoleos and Apollonos 2) Personnel is friendly and polite, they always try to make your stay as pleasant as possible 3) Large bathroom and the room are as cozy as your own home is, with such a comfortable bed, mmm… :) ;) 4) Stylishly designed dining room is pleasant to . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sweet Home Hotel. It was central yet peaceful, and close to the landmarks. We walked to the Acropolis, Sintagma and Plaka and were within easy access to the metro. The rooms were comfortable, spotless and charming. The hotel has been recently renovated and the owners have impeccably blended the old with the new. The staff were very accommodating. The buffet breakfast would have to be the best breakfast we have ever had and we have travelled everywhere. . The building is nice and small. There´s a very nice welcoming feeling in this hotel. It looks like it has being just remodeled. the decoration is nice and of very good taste. The room is very nice and comfortable, brand new batheroom. The break fast is amazing, delicious and everything seems to be done with so much care! The staff is very helpfull and friendly. The location is very good. Easy to walk to sintagma square (airport bus and metro) and to and area where you can find plenty of nice ta. We really enjoyed both our stays over the past month, Aug/Sept. The hotel is in the Plaka so very well located with some nice restaurants, cafes, shops and sights within easy walking distance. The hotel goes the extra mile with providing quality linen and nice pillows on very comfortable beds, fluffy towels, nice extras in the pristine bathrooms. The rooms are not huge but big enough and are beautifully appointed. Both our rooms had a balcony. Breakfast is amazing and a pleasure to eat in the g. It's a beautiful house, the room was amazing even though I had booked the small double room for one guest, so clean, so nicely furnished, so cosy feeling, as if you are in your room & living room at the same time, you don't want to leave even if you have important things to do in the Athenian centre! The shower is out of this world, it takes the tiredness away totally! The bed sheets&towels pure white and...the breakfast...and the breakfast room on the top floor (4)!!! I promised mysel. We stayed at the economy double room for 3 days and it was very nice. The room was very clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was very tasty. The most important was the place of the hotel!! In a few minutes walk you are at the metro station, ermou street, monastiraki, plaka, and acropolis.. Even though it is in the middle of Athens City, it is in a quiet road and is so relaxing. In addition, the number of the quest is small and it is also quiet within the hotel. When we . Please don't tell anyone about this gem! This is a great small hotel in the Plaka and near everything you need while in Athens. Don't let the unimposing exterior street put you off. Inside is pure attention to detail. We were traveling with two young daughters and requested adjoining rooms. They were compact, but the best by far on our entire trip. Modern classical style, soft comfy beds, and plush towels. Breakfast was nice and the staff is very attentive. You'll be spoiled! Enjoy the e. The hotel is a great value for the money. It is in the center of Athens, near Plaka. There are a lot of restaurants, cafes, and shopping nearby. The room and bathroom were incredibly clean and comfortable. Loved the free wifi and breakfast was delicious (an assortment of hot foods, lunchmeat, breads, fresh made pastries, cereals, and tea and juices. The hotel is also located about 500m from the main bus line that takes you directly to Athens airport for only 5 euro! We would definitely stay her. A very nice, clean, homey hotel, recently refurbished by someone with good taste with: - very friendly stuff (it was nice to receive a welcome email from the manager with information how to get there); - excellent location (a few minutes walk away from major tourist attractions, city center, two metro stations and airport express); - very decent breakfast with homemade savory pie and mastic sweets, cooked and served by very nice ladies; - comfortable bed; - good wi-fi; - smart tv. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly. Our room was small, but the view of the Acropolis from our balcony was stunning and made up for the small size. Other rooms, without the view, are larger. Breakfast was good. The location is ideal - close to the historic locations, but not on a loud street with lots of people. We recommend this hotel for a good Athens stay. (Also, we recommend a meal at Daphne's - it was among our best in Greece.). The staff were excellent in communicating with us via email, including easy to follow directions from the bus stop. We only stayed one night and found the room to be well appointed and very comfortable - the bathroom was spacious and dry clean. Gentleman on reception helped us with one bag up the flight of stairs. The best hotel that have ever been in my life , the breakfast was speachless , the hospitality was more then the expectations , the room was beutifull with a big comfort double bad , the design was with attention of the most little details , the shower was so good that you will never want to go out. the smart big screen TV was connect to internet and was very intresting . you dont want to leave this room. We were given a room upgrade as we had not stayed there before. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed we'd ever slept in. The breakfast was fantastic, with a huge choice of options. The details and comfort of this hotel were superb. Most comfortable beds, dark cool rooms, bathrooms just wonderful. The staff were incredibly helpful and accomodating, with a small baby they were very thoughtful and upgraded us into a larger room so the baby cot could fit. Homely and at the same time, in the heart of the city centre, with walking access to Acropolis, Plaka, the main shopping pedestrian road of Athens (Ermou st.) etc. a very small walk from the Syntagma metro station. Next to several ethnic restaurants and cafes. Quiet, GREAT mattress, wonderful breakfast. The hotel was exactly as is was shown in the photographs. The hotel was exceptionally clean, modern and all the staff were very friendly. This hotel was great as soon as you were inside. I'm afraid the entrance is really poor, it looks as if you are entering some sleazy place rather than a hotel, you then have to climb a steep flight of stairs. There is a smart hotel right next door so they need to do something. At least a bag lift, and maybe an illuminated canopy. First of all, the location is perfect, very close to Syntagma Metro station, walking distance to many attraction points. Rooms are very comfortable. The location was on a relatively quiet side street, a hop away from the popular shopping high street and a short walk away from the amazing ancient sites. Such an excellent hotel, room was clean, tidy and well appointed, good sized bathroom/WC, and very friendly and helpful staff especially the breakfast staff. Location is pretty good close to metro and shopping. Room is very quiet and curtains make it nice and dark inside for a good sleep. The location is great, as you can go anywhere from there, and still it is in a quite street. The facilities are good -comfortable bed, good shower, etc. I found the pillow too thick and hard for me, but it was changed upon request. They provide good quality breakfast. Great price for value. An incredible value! Our room was beautiful, with high vaulted ceilings and lovely decor. The free breakfast is outstanding, the staff is so friendly, and you're right in the heart of Plaka -- only steps from great tavernas and the base of the Acropolis. I definitely recommend this hotel!. The location was excellent for sightseeing in the city (within walking distance of the Acropolis, shops and restaurants & main transport links -Syntagma Square). The room decor was very smart & contemporary with beautiful period features in the entrance and communal guest lounge. This is our third time staying here. We've stayed twice for 1 night, and once for 5 nights. All of our stays have been really good. The hotel is really well run and in a great location, walkable to everything and right beside a metro station. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is a bit small but that's no big problem for us. Facilities are good. In walking distance from syntagma square (5min) and Acropolis (10-15min). The hotel apparently put a lot of thought in decor, but I'm afraid I can't say it's quite my style. But again, no big problem. Located in the center of the city is the perfect choice if you want to visit archeological sites or visiting for business. The hotel is very nice renovated with touches of the old times. My room was very confy and with a partial view of the Parthenon!!! Breakfast was very nice. We got an excellent service from the stuff. Afrodita was like a loving mother for us. Great location in the Plaka. Wonderful bed and bedding. Some rooms are larger than others so request a large room. Staff is fabulous and very helpful especially Aprodite. Breakfast is yummy with the most delicious homemade bread and cakes. The staff was very kind, they booked a taxi from the airport to the hotel. They gave us many tips about how to reach the hotel and where are better restaurants and tavernas. The hotel is near the parlament, the metro station and the Acropole. If you want a real Greek experience with good old fashioned customer service and don't mind a few stairs- choose Sweet Home. Breakfast room is delightful. We found the room we'd been assigned quite dark, and very small, and if we had been expecting a large room with a view, we would have been disappointed. I was glad to have been warned by other reviewers, and I was glad, when we got there, that the room was so clean and so tastefully decorated. There was no outside noise, but you can hear other guests movement quite clearly. NOTHING!!!. Nothing perfect for our needs. There is nothing i didn't like. I reserved the economy room, wich is very small, but i knew that. It was nice and very comfotable though, and the bathroom was nice. Upon arrival, we were a little nervous about the location because it is on a small side street. However, upon seeing our room and experiencing it for one night, we thought the hotel was worth its value. There's not much to complain about and it didn't matter to us anyway, but: - both room and bathroom were smallish, not much space for big people or someone with a lot of luggage; - elevator starts from the 1st floor and you have to climb a flight of stairs to get there; - rooms are not very soundproof and you hear other guests taking shower or talking in the corridor; - wish there were towel hooks near bathroom sink and shower cabin. This isn't the hotel's fault, but we didn't like the next door restaurant-owner's aggressive, desperate pleas for us to come eat there. I don't know if the hotel can do anything about it (because the hotel's guests may be the only people who might eat at this little, somewhat dingy restaurant so off the beaten path) but I dreaded having to deal with him each time I walked out the door. I'd just recommend the hotel staff have a conversation with him, if possible. We got lost driving into Athens for the first time,the Plaka can be very daunting with it's one way streets but it's all part of the adventure. you dont want to leave this room . Nothing to dislike. On both times at breakfast during our stay we had to wait for more milk and coffee to be refilled after running out. Maybe bigger jugs would be a solution. Soundproofing inside hotel could be better, but if the neighbors are not noisy it is not a problem. Sometimes there were problems with connecting to Internet. there were few stairs to take in the entrance until the elevator, but we were helped by the staff with laggage. the room's storage arrangemet could have been improoved, maybe different closet and few hangers on the walls / doors. My room is a little small for two/three people. Other type of room may be different. However, considering the price, location, breakfast and overall quality of the hotel, I still enjoy I choose this hotel and will stay in this hotel when come back to Athen again. Hotel was just perfect, even exceeding our expectations. The area, like most in Athens, can look a bit dodgy but was fine. Restaurant spruikers from 2 places across the road and next door always hassling you for a table every time you go in or out of the hotel. There was a couple smoking in the balcon next to our room and we had to close the window to avoid the smell -that kind of inconvenience seems to be unavoidable in Greece. Also, the walls were a bit thin, as we could hear when there was movement in the next room. Although the bathroom was large, the bedroom was small and it was difficult to move around the end and far side of the bed. Storage for two suitcases was difficult. Our room location near the main lobby was noisy one night. When we stayed for just 1 night, we got a small room. For our longer stay we got a larger room. Not really a dislike but something to be aware of. The entrance to the hotel is small, so can be hard to locate the first time. There is a flight of stairs that you have to climb with luggage before u can use the elevator. Wasn't aware that i reserved a single room with 2 ppl staying; and didn't get notified to pay extra 10 euro until i check out. I think the amount of extra charge was fair but felt like i was forced to pay whatever they asked for. They should notify me earlier about the extra charge. None. We had some trouble with lost baggage (by the airlines, not the hotel) and we've got some contradicting information from some of the hotel staff. Other than that, the staff was very nice and helpful. there wasn't much to dislike, I was very impressed with sweet home hotel!. The tv was blasting in the dining area. Soft, soothing music would be much better for this type of atmosphere. Nevertheless, we loved staying here we would stay here again in a heartbeat!. The bathroom wasn't so perfumed... The wireless didn't work very well in the rooms. the pillows are too fat, and we both woke up with stiff necks. Would prefer a fat and thin pillow option on the bed, rather than 2 fat ones :).
