Really nice appartment in Zollverein, a suburb of Essen. We only used it as a place to crash between to days on the road. -
Very easy place to stay.
Parking was over the road in free car park and tram was 30 seconds from apartment. -
Just opposite to the ruhr museum and in the city centre this is the best
hotel I got during my Europe tour.

Gasthaus Nordstern is a very friendly, very welcoming location. The rooms are big enough, well equipped, clean and comfortable. Shower cabins in the room is a little bit awkward, but you can use the private ones down the hall. A big plus for the WiFi. It works great and it's free. The host speaks perfect English. I have stayed one night on this pension which was 10-15 minutes away from the Essen City Centre - Hauptbahnhof. But there are regular bus service close to the pension area (Essen Kray Nord) even at night. The room size is large with window and a sink inside it. Toilets and showers were clean. -
