There is a great restaurant - Matahari - just down at the end of the road, if you follow it to the beach. We drove to Calvi every day for the beach and waterspouts.   fantastic location, every room is practically perched over the sea- so beautiful views, especially sunset, and there is direct access to the crystal clear water for swimming from the rocks.   We booked one night and ended up staying 6 nights. We were there in off- season (early April). Had a very nice and relaxing time. The Hotel has a great location, with an own beach and a mini-marina. You can walk to old town Porto Vecchio within 10 -15 min. Great views from the rooms. Fabulous look from the restaurant. It was not the fake friedliness which you get in the big hotel chains but the charm - Fabulous location right on the edge of the bay. Breakfast not 5 m from the water and clearly the breakfast ladies were very proud of what they were offering - the best selection I had on Corsica. Restaurant is very good but the short 15 minute walk (climb!) into town is also well worth it with very many good restaurants on offer. Very enjoyable location to begin my holiday.
