I stayed at Marmotel Etoile for 6 nights because I was attending a
conference at the Palais des Congres that is at 5 minutes walking
distance from the hotel. My primary motivation for choosing this hotel
was its close proximity to the conference venue I was going to go to 3
days in a row, and it was dirt cheap relative to the hotel suggested by
the conference which was more than twice as expensive. This is Paris, so
expensive is a way of life. A big plus was the fact that the

Un petit hôtel très bien situé avec un personnel et "patronne" super sympathique.Nous avons avec ma femme passé un très bon moment à
Paris malgré les intempéries. Au prochain voyage nous reviendrons.

The rooms make for very spartan accommodation. I just needed a place to
crash, so I was fine, but keep that in mind. The first time I entered
the room it had a certain smell to it (something other reviews had
warned of), but at the price I got I was willing to take that risk. That
smell was very persistent. It was only on the third day that my nose
began ignoring it. That could be a deal breaker for some.
