Gilles, our host, was exceptional -- he gave us some good choices for a Basque meal in Bayonne as well as for touring to some very scenic villages in the rural part of the French Basque Country ( including the Petit Train La Rhune -- fabulous.) Breakfast was plentiful with lots of variety and home baking. -

Great place! But don't recommend the stay if you don't have a car. Cab rides into st jean de luz add up. If you don't mind the fare or have a car, highly recommend it. There is a great restaurant that is packed every night and the view of the mountains is incredible. Very relaxing overall. -
