  I'm amazed when the hotel supposed to pick two people with different flights at the airport and my friend happened to have postphoned flight. The room was spacious even for us standards. It was exceptionally clean. The staff was not just friendly but went out of their way to help us. Martin and Milan were exceptional. They located a fly shop in Prague and gave us instructions on how to get there. The restaurant was very good and we thought good value.   All we can say is "Wow"! We had 6 adults and 2 children under age 2 with us. The apartment at Malostranska Residence was over the top for what we were hoping for. We loved it! Advertised as room for 4 (2 double beds) we had come prepared with an air mattress for the other two adults but there were also two full size couches and a love seat.   Location is in quite place, very near to Vysehrad Cathedral - good place for quiet walk last day before departure. 35 min by walk to the Charles Bridge, if you don;t like trams and metro. Martin - the man in hotel - is very courteous and attentive. Next visit to Prag will stay in the same hotel, and will bring good bottle for him. He told us where to find the local restaurant, bar and shops. The area is very safe to walk round at night which we liked as the apartment is next to the park. And really, this was such a difference compared to what we've experienced in Brno. The stop was the Golden Star hotel, a home from home with friendly personnel who helped us immediately. Sure, the climb up - We liked the location of the hotel - just below the Castle. It looks like an old building but nicely renovated. Cosy and romantic, with a lot of wooden and "golden" details. The breakfast room has a beautiful view to the Old town. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed, kettle and tea/coffee in the room...We would be happy to stay at Golden Star again.
