  The staff is exceptional -- all spoke English, even the maid. All wentout of their way to be friendly and helpful and gracious. We added on ahalf day, since our flight didn't leave til evening, and the maid camein and made up the room with fresh towels and everything while we wereat lunch.   The hotel is really good. We had free upgrade of a delux room to Diplomatic Suit. we were extremely happy. The room is hudge and nicely decorated. The views from the rooms are really nice.   For me is the 3rd time i stayed at Baiyun Hotel. It is a good hotel if you go to Guangzhou for Business. Indeed it is a Chinese hotel and you can have some little difficulties with the language and cigarette (if you are not a smoker). Just in front of the hotel you have a metro station, and a commercial street with many options for international and chinese restaur - The staff were very helpful and many of them spoke English or were able to ask someone else to answer any questions we had.
