  Although I thought we were staying at the main Red Wall Garden Hotel, we ended up, fortunately, at the San Yan Jing Hutong, which I assume is a part of the Red Wall Garden operation. This place was picture perfect, a wonderful Chinese setting with a clientele that one couldn't be more pleased with. I don't know if all the hutong hotels are like this one, - It was very close, within walking distance, of two of the most famous hutongs. Very comfortable beds with a modern bathroom. The staff waited up for us until 1 am to let us in when returned to our room. The breakfast was great with many selections.

Kapok was on the door step of the forbidden city and tien'amen and very convenient for the purpose; to visit these.   We stayed for 5 nights from March 28 to April 2. They granted us all our requests: big carpeted room with king-sized bed and nice view. Thanks Ms Jenny of reservations whom I had been coordinating with via email! The hotel is very near the Chongwenmen subway station (lines 2 & 5). The staf are friendly, helpful and all is in very good shape. location is hard to find sometimes, but all other impressions make this more than good.
